Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Temperatures are on the rise"
Our cold snap is quickly fading and the mercury will be on the rise throughout the rest of the week. Heading out the door this morning you'll need the sweaters as temperatures are cool, but not quite as cold as yesterday. We'll start the day in the lower 50s along the urban corridor with our inland and northern cool spots into the 40s.
Plenty of sunshine will quickly melt any chill in the air and by mid day we're talking about temperatures in the middle 70s. High pressure will continue to move eastbound providing us with a southeasterly wind, which will increase our humidity and push our afternoon highs into the upper 70s to 80° under partly sunny skies.
Tonight, a few clouds will pass by from time to time as overnight lows settle into the low 60s. We may even see a few patches of fog develop by sunrise tomorrow.
On Wednesday, we'll be watching a cold front that's currently making its way across the Mississippi River. It will sink south across the peninsula in a weakened state and will more than likely not have any impact on our weather here in Southwest Florida. At most we'll see a few extra clouds early in the day with a sprinkle or two.
Rain prospects will remain quite low through the rest of the week as daytime highs remain in the lower to middle 80s with lows in the middle 60s.

Weather Trends
