FEW SHOWERS TOMORROW
The spring-like warmth we've enjoyed will soon come to an end this week as a cold front slides into Southwest Florida tomorrow afternoon.
We'll start Tuesday off with temperatures near 70. Areas of dense fog will be an issue again as sea fog moves on shore. So visibility will be low at times in the morning. This is happening because we have such a warm and humid air mass riding over the cool Gulf waters in advance of our cold front.
As we start heading into the afternoon hours our front will begin to traverse the area and give us added cloud cover mixed with a few showers. Highs will be just above 80 degrees.
So as you can see Tuesday will be much different than the past few days. In fact, cloudy skies and a few showers may even carry over into Wednesday before the front makes its final push through our area by Thursday.
This sets the stage for the rest of the week…
Once the front clears Southwest Florida temperatures will take a dive. Daytime highs Thursday will comfortably reach the mid 70s, Friday the low 70s, and by Saturday there's a chance we won't make it out of the 60s. Our overnight temperatures will also spend several nights on the cool side with 50s and 40s possible by the weekend.
Often times after a cold front moves in it only takes a couple days before our weather starts warming back up, but this might not be the case this go around. Computer models are suggesting a big shift in the weather pattern through the first 7-10 days of March where temperatures will stay cooler than average, meaning it might not be until mid March before the spring break weather makes it back to Southwest Florida.
