THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Our stretch of dry weather will come to an end today as a band of rain moves into Southwest Florida this afternoon, signaling the arrival of a cool front that will take a couple days to push all the through.
We'll start the morning with a little patchy fog, but visibility should be much improved compared to the last several mornings. We'll notice some low clouds around early today along with some periods of sunshine, but clouds will be on the increase this afternoon as the cool front comes marching our way.
A broken band of showers will start moving in from the Gulf of Mexico by the mid afternoon, and there might also be a few embedded thunderstorms as well. The good news is this rain will be weakening as it moves in, so we don't anticipate the severe weather threat that areas to our north are experiencing today. As far as rain totals are concerned, most spots should pick up a quarter inch or less.
As we go through the night, some lingering showers will be possible, particularly over southern portions of the viewing area around Collier County. Because the front will take some time before making it all the way through Southwest Florida, clouds and even a few showers will hang around through our Wednesday, keeping daytime highs in the mid to upper 70s.
By Thursday we should notice at least some partial clearing as the cool air starts filtering in. Highs Thursday should only reach the mid 70s after starting with lows in the mid 50s. Friday will be a few points cooler with highs only climbing into the low 70s.
By the weekend, our weather really starts to get chilly. Highs Saturday and Sunday will likely only reach the 60s, and overnight temperatures will fall into the 40s. What's more, clouds and a few showers might even keep our weather a bit cooler Saturday through early Sunday before we see more sunshine by Sunday afternoon. Models are even hinting at temperatures as low as the low 40s and 30s by Monday morning!
By early next week, temperatures will start to warm up for a couple days before the next batch of cold air arrives by the middle of next week.

AND.HARSH CONDEMNATION.
STANDUP: "But, in those hundreds of personal and often passionate notes…we were able to look a little deeper…to look for trends…and to possibly see what is driving so many deeply held opinions. And immediately there were some surprises."
THE ACCUSATIONS OF RACISM AND PROFILING THAT DOMINATED DEMONSTRATIONS A YEAR AGO…
ARE NOT SO PREVALENT IN NOTES WRITTEN TO ZIMMERMAN.
OF THE EMAIL CONDEMNING HIS ACTIONS: FEWER THAN 10 PERCENT CALL HIM A RACIST.
ONLY ABOUT 5 PERCENT ACCUSE HIM OF PROFILING.
STANDUP: "The most common factor in opinions against Zimmerman may have its roots right here--that mental image of Trayvon Martin buying a pack of skittles and a can of ice tea at this convenience store before walking home to watch a basketball game. The one thing Zimmerman critics mentioned most isTrayvon Martin's age."
41 PERCENT, IN FACT, CONDEMNING ZIMMERMAN'S ACTIONS EXPLICITLY MENTION TRAYVON MARTIN'S YOUTH.
SOME CALLING HIM A 17 YEAR OLD, A TEENAGER, A YOUNG MAN….
BUT MOST MAY HAVE FORMED OPINIONS BASED ON THE YOUNGER PHOTOS OF MARTIN PUBLICIZED EARLY IN THE CASE…CALLING MARTIN A "BOY"…A "KID"…A "CHILD."
STANDUP: "And many of the people writing notes of support to George Zimmerman seemed to be reacting to what they saw playing out right here in the streets of Sanford, Florida. Nearly a quarter of the people supporting Zimmerman objected to race being an issue in this case."
SOME BLAMED THE MEDIA…
OTHERS BLAMED LEADERS OF THE PROTESTS…
SOME WENT EVEN FURTHER TO SUGGEST A CONSPIRACY AT WORK…
…OR THAT ZIMMERMAN WAS HIMSELF, A VICTIM OF RACISM.
A FEW MADE COMMENTS OFFERING A POSSIBLE GLIMPSE INTO A RACIAL DIVIDE…
….AND RACIALLY MOTIVATED RESENTMENT.

CUTTING 600-MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE FAA MEANS BIG CHANGES.
100 AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTERS WOULD CLOSE.
60 MORE WOULD GET RID OF OVERNIGHT SHIFTS.
AND THE MAJORITY OF 47-THOUSAND EMPLOYEES WOULD BE GIVEN FORCED DAYS OFF EVERY TWO WEEKS.
INCLUDING THOSE WORKING SECURITY.

AND IT DOESN'T SIT WELL WITH A LOT OF TRAVELERS.
SOT: "Larry Fogerson, Part-Time Resident, "I'm not in favor of those cuts, in fact I think it's a man made crisis to forward a political agenda."

Paul, "And if you cut back on the effeciency of travel, speed of travel, the difficulty of it, you're hurting the economy and the travel and leisure industry."
IT'S UNCLEAR EXACTLY HOW MUCH OF AN EFFECT THE CUTS WOULD HAVE, BUT THE FAA PREDICTS AN AVERAGE OF 90 MINUTE DELAYS IN LARGE AIRPORTS LIKE CHICAGO O'HARE DURING PREAK HOURS.
