COOLER WEATHER IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA.

NBC2'S GEORGE SOLIS LIVE ON FORT MYERS BEACH AS SPRING BREAK GETS UNDERWAY.

AND METEOROLOGIST TYLER MAULDIN KEEPING AN EYE ON THE LATEST TEMPS FROM OUR FIRST ALERT STORM TRACKING CENTER.

STARTING WITH TYLER.WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW. Return to index of stories...

FIRST WX-WXCNTR

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

GLOOMY START TO MARCH

The first weekend in March will certainly not go down as one of those picture perfect "Chamber of Commerce" weekends across Southwest Florida. In fact, this weekend will be a pretty unusual one for Southwest Florida standards; it's going to be chilly, windy, cloudy, and even rainy at times.

It'll be chilly tonight as temperatures begin to tumble. I'm forecasting the lower 50s tonight, then upper 30s to lower 40s for morning lows on Sunday. Keep in mind, however, temperatures will feel a bit cooler than what the thermometer might tell us because northerly winds will be rather stiff through the weekend with gusts up to 25 mph.

To further complicate the forecast, there's even the chance for a few light showers as a disturbance heads our way from the Gulf of Mexico. The best chance for some cold rain showers will likely be from late tonight through Sunday morning. Our rain chance will be around 60%. Expect showers to be more numerous along the coast.

By Sunday morning, the combination of clouds, cold temperatures, and scattered rain and wind won't make for the most pleasant of ways to get the day going. Temperatures will start in the low to mid 40s, but the hope is that by Sunday afternoon, the clouds will start to break up, allowing for some rays of sun. Despite some afternoon sunshine, however, Sunday will be another chilly one with highs only reaching the low to mid 60s.

Temperatures will be at their lowest point Sunday night into Monday morning as skies start to clear and winds relax. Most of us across the urban corridor will cool into the low 40s with inland locations dipping into the mid 30s by early Monday morning.

Once we get past the Monday morning chill, temperatures will start to rebound for a couple days. By Tuesday highs will return to the upper 70s, but don't get too used to the warmer weather because another cool front is set to arrive by the middle of next week! Return to index of stories...

FIRE AND AMBULANCE CREWS ARE ON THE WAY.

Dispatcher: We need to get CPR started. that's not enough. ok?

Caller: Yeah, we can't do CPR.

Dispatcher: Okay, hand the phone to a passerby.

Caller: We can't do CPR at this facility.

Dispatcher: If you can't do it, hand it to the passerby and I'll have them do it.

Caller: No. No.

Dispatcher: Anybody there can do CPR. Give them the phone please. I understand if your facility is not willing to do that. Give the phone to that passerby, that stranger. This woman is not breathing enough. She's going to die if we don't get this started. Do you understand?

Caller: I understand. I am a nurse but I can't have our other senior citizens who don't know CPR to do this. We're in a dining room.

Dispatcher: I will instruct them. Is there anyone there who is willing? I don't understand why you're not willing to help this patient.

A LITTLE MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES INTO THE CALL, BAYLESS REMAINS UNTOUCHED, BARELY BREATHING ON THE DINING ROOM FLOOR.

Caller: You can talk to my boss.

Dispatcher: Okay, they're refusing CPR. They're going to let her die. By the facility.

Caller: When will the fire department be here?

Dispatcher: They've been on the way all this time, but we can't wait this lady is going to die.
