Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
Some brief, light showers will move in this morning as a cool front slides through Southwest Florida, and then by the afternoon, skies will clear from north to south as temperatures become noticeably cooler.
While rain chances won't be very high this morning, here's the best thinking on the timing of when the showers move in: expect some quickly moving, spotty showers to start pushing through Charlotte County first around 7 a.m. Lee County should start to see some isolated shower activity from 7-9 a.m., and finally, if the showers manage to survive the journey south, Collier County will see the best chance for a passing shower from 9-10 a.m. Models are keeping rain totals incredibly low, so the places that manage to get a little shower will likely pick up less than a tenth of an inch.
After hitting our daytime high of 71° early this afternoon, temperatures will start to drop this afternoon as the cool air filters in with a strong northwesterly breeze. By mid to late afternoon, temperatures for most of Southwest Florida will be in the mid 60s even with clear, sunny skies.
Winds will become quite breezy through the day with gusts reaching 25-30 mph.
Look for breezy, chilly weather tonight with temperatures dropping into the mid 40s between the coast and I-75. East of I-75, temperatures may get as cold as the mid to upper 30s in the inland cold spots.
Thursday will be another cool day with highs aimed for the low 70s under full sunshine, and by Thursday night into Friday morning, we'll have another round of temperatures in the mid to upper 40s.
A warming trend begins Friday and into the upcoming weekend. With sunny skies and comfortable humidity levels, our weekend outlook looks fantastic with highs getting back into the 80s by Sunday.

Full Forecast
