March has meant more winter weather in Massachusetts with 6 to 12 inches of
snow in the state.
Colleen McGuire -
"Low and behold, you know, Mother Nature had more in store for us."
But powerful ocean waves and high winds are causing more trouble than the
snow. Flooding at the morning high tide closed some coastal roads in and
around the Boston area.
On Plum Island, north of Boston, the storm surge knocked one home off its
foundation and into the ocean. Fortunately the house was unoccupied.the
owner is spending the winter in Florida. But nearby, Cheryl Comeau is not
so lucky. The home that has been her family for 70 years is teetering on
the brink of the Atlantic.
Cheryl Comeau -
We never went anywhere. This was our vacation, we got to stay here and now
we're going to see it slide into the ocean.
Seven homes in the area are now uninhabitable because of damage from
previous storms along with this one. In other coastal towns in New England,
it's the same story. Jay Harvey's deck is still damaged from the February
blizzard and his living room is boarded up after a wave crashed through.
Jay Harvey -
"It's just, you don't want to feel the house shaking.you can't sleep. We
didn't sleep last night."
But From his office in Boston. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick said
most of the state is coping well.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
WARMER WEATHER THIS WEEKEND
High pressure is set to control our weather providing us with on fantastic weekend.
Tonight, clear skies and light winds will allow temperatures to drop off quickly just after sunset, but it won't be quite as cold. Lower 50s will remain in the forecast for Saturday morning with middle 40s east of I-75.
There's more good news about the weekend. After cool mornings in the 50s, afternoon highs will recover into the lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. Due to a freshly chilled Gulf of Mexico, beaches and coastal locations will more than likely hold in the mid 70s during the day.
Through Sunday, winds will take more of an easterly turn pushing just a few fair weather clouds across the peninsula.
As a result of a milder airflow, daytime numbers will climb in the lower to middle 80s, as overnight temperatures settle into the lower 60s.
Early next week will remain fairly dry, however by Wednesday we'll be tracking another cold front with the possibility of a few daytime showers.
