IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
SUNNY AND WARM THIS WEEKEND
High pressure continues to inch over the state, and as long as it prevails in our weather pattern, we'll see mostly sunny skies and warming temperatures.
Our weekend forecast includes just that, so yes the weekend is looking great.
Today looks mostly sunny as that area of high pressure dominates, and our high temperatures will top out at 80 degrees. Winds will be southeasterly around 10 mph during the first half of the day and an afternoon sea breeze will kick in along the coast. Beach weather looks fantastic and the highs along the coast will be in the mid to upper 70s due to a feeble sea breeze.
The outlook for Sunday is almost like Saturday. Lots of sunshine and highs in the 80s after starting in the mid 50s. The only difference is the fact it won't be AS sunny. A weather disturbance is approaching for our west, and it will add cloud cover to the sky later in the day on Sunday.
Next week we will track a weak front moving into the area on Tuesday. At this point it is still looking like a dry pattern with only a 30 percent chance of a shower late Tuesday with the arrival of the aforementioned front.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the nice weather!

THE U-S WILL SEND MORE GROUND-BASED MISSILE INTERCEPTORS TO THE WEST COAST IN AN EFFORT FOR NEW ARMS CONTROL TALKS.
THIS COMES ON THE HEELS OF NORTH KOREA'S THREATS OF A NUCLEAR ATTACK ON SOUTH KOREA AND THE U-S.
CHRIS LAWRENCE EXPLAINS.
Return to index of stories...
IF A NUCLEAR MISSILE IS EVER FIRED AT THE UNITED STATES, THIS IS THE BEST HOPE TO STOP IT. 30 INTERCEPTOR MISSILES, WHICH CAN BE LAUNCHED FROM GROUND SILOS IN ALASKA AND CALIFORNIA.
NOW THE PENTAGON IS DEPLOYING UP TO 14 MORE.
"The reason that we are doing what we are doing and the reason we are advancing our program here for homeland security is to not take any chances, is to stay ahead of the threat."
NORTH KOREA TESTED A LONG RANGE MISSILE IN DECEMBER. IT CONDUCTED ITS THIRD NUCLEAR TEST IN FEBRUARY. AND JUST THIS MONTH, THREATENED A PRE-EMPTIVE NUCLEAR STRIKE ON THE U-S.
THAT CAUGHT THE PENTAGON'S ATTENTION.
"North Korea's shrill public pronouncements underscore the need for the US to continue to take prudent steps to defeat any future North Korean ICBM."
BUT AS FAR BACK AS THE STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH, PRESIDENT OBAMA SAID THE U-S WOULD,
"Strengthen our own missile defense and lead the world in taking firm action in response to these threats."
BUT REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL SOURCES SAY THE PRESIDENT'S ACTIONS HAVE BEEN ANYTHING BUT FIRM.
IN 2011, THE ADMINISTRATION MOTH-BALLED ONE ALASKAN MISSILE FIELD ARGUING INTELLIGENCE SHOWED THERE WASN'T ENOUGH OF A THREAT.
A SHORT-SITED MOVE, SAY THE CONGRESSIONAL SOURCES. QUOTE "THE INTEL DIDN'T CHANGE. THIS IS RIGHT WHERE WE EXPECTED NORTH KOREA TO BE."
AND THAT'S IN POSSESSION OF A MISSILE THAT COULD TRAVEL NEARLY 5-THOUSAND MILES - IN THEORY.
SINCE NORTH KOREA HAS NEVER SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED A LONG-RANGE I-C-B-M.
"I think what you see here is mainly a political signal to North Korea, that no one's going to be intimidated by their December launch and then the subsequent nuclear test."

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
