Today's Weather Story
THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
After some beneficial rains to start the week, the possibility of even more will remain in the forecast through Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the north. Most of the rain that swept in off the Gulf of Mexico has dissipated and as a result of the wet grounds and high humidity, patchy fog is possible as we get our Tuesday morning going along with a couple of spotty showers.
Temperatures will start off rather mild and muggy in the middle 60s and with a few more rays of sun through the day, afternoon highs will warm back into the lower 80s. As south and southwesterly winds continue to pump in a warm and humid airmass, rain prospects will stand at about 40% this afternoon with a few showers during the day primarily east of I-75.
Late Tuesday and into Wednesday, we'll be tracking another weakening cold front as it slides down the Florida peninsula. This will keep more clouds streaming in across our part of the state, along with scattered showers during the afternoon. As this front pulls away, some slightly drier air will work its way down the state lower humidity in place by Thursday with more sunshine.
Our weather pattern should stay relatively quiet Thursday through Saturday with partly sunny skies and afternoon temperatures in the lower to middle 80s. Another storm system will move in late in the weekend sending another cold front our way. This will produce another round of scattered showers and storms on late in the weekend and into Monday, with a cooler airmass moving in by early next week.
