BUT ACCORDING TO THOSE INVESTIGATIONS, MODERN MIDWAY HAS NEVER BEEN FOUND AT FAULT FOR ANY OF THOSE ACCIDENTS.
MOST OF THOSE INJURIES WERE CAUSED BY SOMEONE LOSING THEIR BALLANCE, OR TAKING OFF A SAFETY HARNESS.
BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED HERE, IT COULD BE WEEKS BEFORE THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE RING OF FIRE IS FINISHED.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.
WARM AND HUMID WITH SHOWERS ON THE WAY
It is a warm and humid start to the day. Temperatures are in the mid and upper 60s and we'll see patchy fog for your morning commute, especially in the inland areas. During the first half of the day, we could see a bit of sunshine peaking through the clouds. Through the rest of the day, our weather will become more active. We'll see more cloud cover along with showers and even a few storms moving into Southwest Florida with a cold front. This rain will likely stick with us through the evening hours and into the night. The front will slide to our south by tomorrow. If you are looking for more sunshine, Thursday will be your day, as the clouds move out behind the cold front. Humidity will also be lower behind the front. Highs today will reach into the lower 80s. Tomorrow we'll be cooler; starting with temperatures in the mid and upper 50s and topping out in the mid 70s. We'll start in the mid 50s on Friday and there will still be a good amount of sunshine to finish the work week. Afternoon highs on Friday will be right around 80 degrees. Through the weekend, we continue the warming trend with our highs going into the mid 80s. Our next rain chance will be here late Sunday into Monday.

The President started his day in Israel with a tour of the Iron Dome which is the missile defense system that the US government is actually funding a large part of.
"The United States of America stands with the state of Israel because it is in our fundamental national security interest to stand with Israel. It makes us both stronger, it makes us both more prosperous and it makes the world a better place."
The President today is going to be heavy with meetings with Israeli government officials including the President Shimon Peres and of course Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The two of them will have a joint press conference where no doubt the lead topic news of the day here in the region has to deal with Syria and this issue of chemical weapons.
Have they been used and who used them?
The Israeli government officials have been confirming that chemical weapons have been used, they're not sure who's used them the rebels or the Assad regime.
The United States government hasn't confirmed any of that but we will hear from the president, he has talked about the use of chemical weapons as a red line when it comes to Syria.

THE RUSSIANS SAW A FLASH OF FLIGHT - AND HEARD THE SONIC BOOM.
nats
THE METEOR EXPLODED WITH THE FORCE OF A NUCLEAR BOMB. IT DID $30 MILLION IN DAMAGE AND INJURED A THOUSAND PEOPLE.
nats screaming
AND NO ONE SAW IT COMING.
"We were fortunate that the events of last month were simply an interesting coincidence, rather than a catastrophe."
THE NATION'S TOP SCIENCE OFFICIALS WERE CALLED BEFORE CONGRESS TUESDAY, TO EXPLAIN WHAT THEY'RE DOING TO DETECT SIMILAR THREATS FROM SPACE.
"And objects as large as a car arrive about once per week."
THE BIGGER CONCERN IS WELL, THE BIGGER ONES.
USING A FOOTBALL FIELD FOR PERSPECTIVE, THE SIZE OF THAT METEOR OVER RUSSIA WOULD ONLY TAKE YOU TO THE 7-YARD LINE. CONGRESS HAS ORDERED NASA TO TRACK OBJECTS THAT ARE SIGNIFICANTLY BIGGER THAN THE ENTIRE FIELD - BIG ENOUGH TO WIPE OUT A CITY.

IN THE FILM DEEP IMPACT, ASTRONAUTS SET OFF A NUKE TO DEFLECT AN ASTEROID.
AND THE U-S NAVY SUCCESSFULLY SHOT DOWN AN OLD SPY SATELLITE IN 2008, BEFORE IT COULD CRASH TO EARTH AND RELEASE TOXIC GAS. BUT BLASTING A LARGE ASTEROID IS NOT IN THE CARDS.
"It would not be practical to have a laser powerful enough to split it in half."

CONJURING UP IMAGES OF THE FILM "ARMAGEDDON", NASA IS PUSHING AHEAD WITH PLANS TO LAND ASTRONAUTS ON AN ASTEROID BY 2025, AND IMPROVE EARLY DETECTION.
"Most important single thing we could do to improve our capacity to see any asteroid of potentially damaging size coming would be an orbiting infrared telescope."
standup --
"You see asteroids like the one over Russia can't be seen from the ground, because they get lost in the sun's glare. Science officials say they need to put a special telescope into orbit. It's being developed right now, but the cost - up to 3-quarters of a billion dollars. Chris Lawrence, CNN, the Pentagon."

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
