6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Like most mornings this week, it's another chilly start across Southwest Florida. The good news for you warm weather fans is our weather gradually warms up this weekend with highs back in the 70s for the first time in several days.

After starting this Saturday morning in the 40s, we're on track to warm into the mid to upper 60s by noon with temps peaking around 70 degrees for most of us this afternoon. For the beaches, temperatures will be noticeably cooler, though, as the sea breeze comes in off a very chilly Gulf of Mexico later today; temperatures for our coastal zones should only be able to warm into the upper 60s.

Today's breeze won't be nearly as brisk as it was Friday, which will make for improved boating conditions today.as long as the 59 degrees water temp doesn't bother you.

One change we'll notice today is our sky won't be as sunny due to some clouds passing through Southwest Florida, so expect some cloudy periods at times, especially this morning with some sunnier spells by the afternoon.

Temperatures will be cool again tonight but not as cold as this morning. Most of Southwest Florida will spend the night with lows in the 50s, but a few inland spots could dip into the upper 40s.

We'll add more warmth to the forecast Sunday and Monday, and some of us may even come close to hitting 80 degrees by Monday afternoon.

We won't have any rain to track until mid week, and even then, rain chances will only be in the "slight" category.

Another fairly strong cold front is expected to arrive Wednesday, which could potentially send our temperatures back in the 30s by Thursday morning. Return to index of stories...

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL
