FORECAST OPEN-CLIP

Return to index of stories...

FORECAST-WXWALL

WX RUNDOWN:

We saw near-record warmth this afternoon across Southwest Florida with temperatures peaking in the mid to upper 80s.

Expect a very mild evening and overnight period featuring a mainly clear early followed by areas of dense fog developing late tonight into the morning hours on Monday. Visibility may be quite challenging early in the morning , so be sure to give yourself plenty of time for the commute, and use those low beams.

Once the fog fades by mid morning, sunshine takes of for most of the day, but we'll likely have some isolated showers popping up int the afternoon away from the beaches. Rain chances will be around 30%, so the overall coverage should stay fairly spotty.

Temperatures will be the main story this week as afternoon temperatures soar into the low to mid 80s for the entire week. Some of us away from the coast may even briefly peak in the upper 80s, so it's going to be quite warm during the afternoons. Overnight temperatures will stay very mild as well with lows only cooling into the mid to upper 60s.

Fog will continue to be a good possibility early in the morning throughout the week, so plan on reduced visibility on the highways and byways through mid morning.

We'll notice a little more cloud cover Thursday and Friday as a weak front approaches from the north, but this front will have a hard time making it into South Florida. It appears the next cold front won't arrive until next Sunday, so temperatures will stay unseasonably warm until then.

Rain chances will stay relatively throughout the week, but some isolated rain will be possible along the sea breeze through the second half of the week.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...
