5:02 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"A warm start to the week"

After the low clouds and fog lifted across Southwest Florida yesterday, it turned out to be a pretty nice Sunday. Lots of sunshine returned and temperatures warmed close to record values as they soared into the middle to upper 80s.

This morning areas of fog will form once again, especially across our inland communities. As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Glades county until 8am. It will also be a rather mild and humid start with temperatures in the middle to upper 60s. Once the fog lifts, partly sunny skies will take us into the afternoon hours with minimal rain chances. A couple of isolated showers will be possible mainly east of I- 75, otherwise plan on a fairly dry and warm start to the week. In fact, afternoon highs will run 10° above average as they climb into the middle 80s. With the developing west coast seabreeze, temperatures will be slightly cooler along the coast and at our beach locations.

With clear skies and light winds in the forecast tonight, patchy fog will be a concern for the early morning commute on Tuesday. Temperatures will also settle in the middle to upper 60s.

The unseasonably warm weather will stick around through the middle part of the week. Plan on morning lows to be quite mild in the middle 60s, while temperatures climb into the lower to middle 80s during the day. A bit more moisture will return by midweek adding a little bit of cloud cover to our skies, along with the a few more showers by Wednesday. A better rain chance will come in for the second half of the weekend ahead of an approaching cold front. Return to index of stories...
