NATIONAL WX FORECAST-WXWALL

TRACKING A COLD FRONT

The weather picture in southwest Florida will start to change tomorrow. We can expect some rain to move through and cooler temperatures by the end of the week.

Tonight's forecast still looks good. Skies will be mostly clear again this evening with low temperatures dropping to upper 50's inland and around 60 along the coast. The humidity has come up a bit today and some morning fog will be possible to start the day on Wednesday.

A cold front is developing west of Florida and will move toward the state tomorrow. By late day we will see clouds increase and temperatures topping out in the low 80's during the afternoon. The cold front should cross the area by Thursday morning and bring showers or thunderstorms. It's possible that some thunderstorms could punch through here with gusty winds and frequent lightning by Thursday morning.

Cooler weather is on the way for the end of the week as we track highs in the 70's for a few days. A few chilly mornings are expected - especially on Friday morning as lows dip into the 30's and 40's.

The weekend weather is looking fine with plenty of sunshine and seasonally pleasant temperatures. Return to index of stories...
