"I think the majority of viewers don't even realize 'The Tonight Show' started in New York City. You're basically going to reintroduce the show to the city and the viewers."

"Which is fun. In the exact same studio. Not the same city, not the same building. The same studio in the building."

"You know what's really funny. If you look at some early footage of 'The Tonight Show' in New York with Johnny. It was a such a low budget show, on the long shots you can see the plywood stage, you can see the carpet and the plywood. It really looks funny and off to the side, you see guys standing and smoking, between the set, it's hilarious."

"Think they found some of that plywood for you?"

"No, this is gorgeous. Beautiful mahogany."

"He's got all new plywood."

"All brand new plywood. It looks like mahogany though The set is gorgeous. It's a work of art. it's beautiful. It's classy it's glamorous. Everything that New York City is."

"At some point, there's going to be some slip in a demo or a rating, and the knives are going to be out, the critics are going to say, the sky's falling, NBC made a huge mistake. He's not Jay. Are you ready for that?"

"Yeah. Totally ready for that. I know it's going to happen."

"I'm starting on that the day after."

"I really wish you wouldn't do that. "

"They all do that. That's the funny thing. There's always somebody mad about something. You know, that happened to Johnny. 1969. Somebody sent me an article, When's Paar coming back? Johnny brings out these bimbo actresses and so and so, and Jack Paar spoke to Orson Welles. So there's always somebody mad, you have to do what you do."

"Jay's going to be watching you taking over The Tonight Show. You're going to watch Seth Meyers take over your show. What's that going to be like for you?"

"It's kinda like selling a used car. It's been a good car. I'm gonna give to Seth. I didn't tell him about the transmission.

"He's got it now, it's not my problem. Once he gets it, it's not my problem."

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

WARMER FOR THE WEEKEND

It was a sun-filled but somewhat cool Valentine's Day across Southwest Florida, with highs only in the mid to upper 60s. If you're heading out to celebrate this evening, make sure to bring a jacket, with temps falling into the 50s. Overnight lows will not be as chilly, with temps holding in the mid 50s.

We start a slow warming trend for the weekend, with highs on Saturday climbing into the low 70s. A weak cool front will work through the area late Saturday, bringing a few clouds and a reinforcing shot of cool air. This cool air will bring lows Saturday Night down in the mid 40s, with low 40s possible inland.

Despite the cool air in the morning, the warmup will march on Sunday. Expect plenty of sun and highs climbing into the mid 70s.

The quiet and dry weather still looks to continue into next week. Sunshine will continue for President's Day, with highs in the upper 70s. More sun is likely on Tuesday, with temps back in the low 80s.

A touch more moisture will arrive midweek, bringing a few more clouds to the area. Highs by Thursday will push into the mid 80s.

It still looks like no major weather systems will affect the region over the next 7 days.

RAYS FUTURE IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY-PLASMA

TODAY THE TAMPA BAY RAYS STARTED SPRING TRAINING HERE AT CHARLOTTE SPORTS PARK.

FOR YEARS THE TAMPA BAY RAYS HAVE BEEN EXPLORING THE IDEA OF LEAVING TROPICANA FIELD IN ST PETE AND FINDING A NEW SPOT TO PLAY REGULAR SEASON GAMES.

FOR SIX YEARS THE TAMPA BAY RAYS HAVE CALLED PORT CHARLOTTE HOME IN THE SPRING.

NAT cameras

THEIR DAYS AT THEIR TAMPA BAY HOME -- TROPICANA FIELD -- MAY BE NUMBERED.

BUT MANAGER JOE MADDON LOVES IT AT CHARLOTTE SPORTS PARK.

Joe Maddon, Tampa Bay Rays Manager "The fields themselves… a little bit of isolation… I love that."

IN A ONE ON ONE INTERVIEW TODAY N-B-C TWO WANTED TO KNOW IF A MOVE FROM SAINT PETE WOULD AFFECT THE TEAMS TRAINING SCHEDULE.

Joe Maddon, Tampa Bay Rays Manager "You could talk about fancy, whatever, more elaborate, I don't know to me this is what Spring training is supposed to look like, it's what it's suppose to feel like."

MADDON DOESN'T WANT TO LEAVE -

WE CHECKED WITH THE COUNTY -- AND ANY MOVE IN THE BAY AREA WOULDN'T IMPACT THE RAYS IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA.

ALTHOUGH, IT WOULDN'T BE DIFFICULT IF THEY WANTED TO TRAIN SOMEWHERE ELSE - ALL IT TAKES IS A NINE-MONTH WARNING TO CHARLOTTE COUNTY THEY WANT OUT.

Joe Maddon, Tampa Bay Rays Manager "I think the mission was accomplished trying to expand the footprint, getting down here moving the Spring training out of St. Pete… I think it was a great idea."

RAYS FAN KEITH NOWAK, MAKES THE DRIVE FROM SARASOTA EVERY YEAR TO WATCH HIS FAVORITE TEAM TRAIN.

Keith Nowak, Fan "St. Pete's a good location to watch the major league games too, but Spring training in Port Charlotte is really nice."

IF A NEW STADIUM IS BUILT IN TAMPA, THE RAYS WOULD HAVE TO DEMOLISH THEIR CURRENT STADIUM AND PAY ST. PETERSBURG FOR EVERY LOST YEAR OF PLAY UNTIL 2027.

IF THEY CHOOSE TO LEAVE CHARLOTTE, A NOTICE IS REQUIRED BY MAY.

Keith Nowak, Fan "If the Devil Rays felt another location was better, they're my favorite American league team, so I'd go wherever they thought."
