MICHAEL DUNN MISTRIAL-ONCAM

A JACKSONVILLE JURY COULD ONLY AGREE ON THREE OF FOUR CHARGES -- SURROUNDING THE LOUD MUSIC TRIAL.

MICHAEL DUN -- FOUND GUILTY ON FOUR COUNTS.

THE JURY WAS UNABLE TO AGREE ON WHETHER HE'S GUILTY OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER -- IN THE DEATH OF 17-YEAR-OLD JORDAN DAVIS.

NOW -- MANY ARE COMPARING THIS TRIAL -- TO THAT OF GEORGE ZIMMERMAN, WHO WAS ACQUITTED OF KILLING 17-YEAR-OLD TRAYVON MARTIN. Return to index of stories...

MICHAEL DUNN MISTRIAL-trxPKG

As to count one I will declare that mistried.

A FLORIDA JURY UNABLE TO AGREE ON WHETHER MICHAEL DUNN COMMITTED FIRST-DEGREE MURDER WHEN HE KILLED 17-YEAR-OLD JORDAN DAVIS IN NOVEMBER 20-12.

THIS WAS THE MOST SERIOUS CHARGE DUNN FACED.

HOWEVER, THE JURY DID FIND HIM GUILTY ON THREE COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER and ONE COUNT OF SHOOTING INTO A CAR.

DUNN SHOT AT AN S-U-V CARRYING DAVIS AND THREE OF HIS FRIENDS, AFTER AN ARGUMENT OVER LOUD MUSIC IN A JACKSONVILLE PARKING LOT.

DUNN AND HIS LAWYERS CLAIMED THE 47-YEAR-OLD ACTED IN SELF-DEFENSE, FEARING FOR HIS AND HIS GIRLFRIEND'S SAFETY,

Attorney: You thought everyone in the car was a thug or a gangster, right?

Dunn: After the way they behaved, yes I did.

THE PROSECUTION SET OUT TO DISMANTLE THE SELF-DEFENSE ARGUMENT.

This defendant took it upon himself to silence Jordan Davis forever. Even people who have the right to self defense, do not have the right to take the life of a child when that self defense is unreasonable.

BEFORE THE VERDICT, DUNN'S ATTORNEY SAID HE BELIEVED DUNN GOT A FAIR TRIAL -- BUT HOPED THE JURY RECOGNIZED HIS CLIENT'S POSITION.

It was actually Jordan Davis who escalated it, and when my client didn't react and actually went to talk to him, that's when it got worse.

THE 12 PERSON JURY DELIBERATED FOR MORE THAN 30 HOURS OVER FOUR DAYS. Return to index of stories...

STATE ATTORNEY ANGELA COREY SAYS -- ON THE FIRST DEGREE MURDER COUNT AGAISNT DUN -- SHE INTENDS TO "FULLY PUSH FOR A NEW TRIAL IN DUVAL COUNTY."

SHE SAYS -- JUSTICE FOR JORDAN DAVIS IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS ANY OTHER VICTIM.

DUNN IS SCHEDULED TO BE SENTENCED -- IN MARCH. Return to index of stories...

47:08-47:20

"Our deployment plans work very well. Does that mean we can't have a really, really busy year? Sure, sure we could. But we have available resources out there that we could pull in, should that occur."

FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

If you're head downtown to see the Edison Festival of Light Parade, the forecast looks great--just a little chilly and breezy with temperatures around 60 degrees when the parade gets underway. Temps will be quickly dropping into the 50s through the evening, so you'll want to have a coat, especially with the stiff breeze.

Temperatures during the day will be quite comfortable as highs only reach the low to mid 70s, but keep in mind we'll have strong northwesterly breeze this afternoon gusting up to 20-25 mph, which will work to make the air feeling cooler.

With clear skies in place tonight, temperatures will be rather chilly as morning lows dip into the mid 40s early Sunday with inland spots cooling into the low 40s.

Sunday is shaping up to be another beautiful day with wall to wall sunshine, low humidity, and daytime highs in the mid 70s.

Temperatures start to rebound as we go through the upcoming week. We're back around 80 by Monday afternoon, and that's where we'll stay for the remainder of the week. In fact, for the second half of the week, highs should manage to climb into the mid 80s with morning lows only dropping into the mid 60s.
