6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

A reinforcing shot of cool air pushed into Southwest Florida this morning, sending our morning lows down into the 40s, but some warmer weather awaits in the days ahead.

Despite the chilly start, we've got a very pleasant and mild day on the way with temperatures warming into the mid 70s by the afternoon. As a much drier air mass invades Southwest Florida behind yesterday's front, we'll keep clear and sunny skies from start to finish.

Winds will also ease up a bit compared to yesterday. The breeze will come in from the north and northwest today between 5-15 mph.

Temperatures will be a bit warmer tonight, but we'll still be on the cool side with lows dropping into the low 50s and upper 40s by early Monday morning.

As we head into the upcoming week, we've got a phenomenal forecast in store for Southwest Florida.

Sunshine will be prevalent this week, particularly Monday through Wednesday, and we won't have any rain in the forecast all the way through the end of the week.

NEW DETAILS IN THE LOUD MUSIC TRIAL --

A JACKSONVILLE JURY REACHED A VERDICT IN THE CASE OF A MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING A BLACK TEEN DURING AN ARGUMENT OVER LOUD MUSIC.

NBC2 HAS FOLLOWED THIS STORY THROUGHT THE TRIAL --

CRISTINA MUTCHLER HAS THE VERY LATEST. Return to index of stories...

LOUD MUSIC MISTRIAL-PKG

--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS--

CROWDS OUTSIDE THE JACKSONVILLE COURTHOUSE ERUPTED UPON HEARING THE VERDICT.

Based on the jury's inability to reach a verdict as to count one, I will declare that mistried.

THE FLORIDA JURY WAS UNABLE TO AGREE ON WHETHER MICHAEL DUNN COMMITTED MURDER OR ACTED IN SELF DEFENSE WHEN HE SHOT 17-YEAR-OLD JORDAN DAVIS IN NOVEMBER 20-12.

THIS WAS THE MOST SERIOUS CHARGE DUNN FACED.

HOWEVER, THE JURY DID FIND HIM GUILTY ON THREE COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED MURDER AND ONE COUNT OF SHOOTING INTO A CAR.

PROSECUTORS SAY DUNN MEANT TO KILL DAVIS AND THREE OF HIS FRIENDS WHEN HE FIRED HIS GUN AT THEIR S-U-V, AFTER AN ARGUMENT OVER LOUD MUSIC IN A JACKSONVILLE PARKING LOT.

FOLLOWING THE VERDICT DAVIS' PARENTS SPOKE TO THE MEDIA.

Its sad for Mr. Dunn that he will live the rest of his life in that sense of torment.

I believe we have stood strong in the eyes of not only Jacksonville, not only Florida, not only the nation, but the world is looking at all of us here in Jacksonville.

DUNN'S ATTORNEY SAYS THERE WAS NO WINNER IN THIS CASE.

There's going to be two sets of families that are going to be grieving because of what happened here.

6:32 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Temperatures will be the main focus through the second half of the week as daytime highs climb all the way to the mid 80s from Wednesday into the upcoming weekend, setting up a stretch of some unseasonably warm weather across Southwest Florida.
