6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

The warmth and humidity stay bottled up over Southwest Florida this weekend as we continue our stretch of unseasonably warm weather.

After a warm and muggy start to the day with some pockets of fog, we'll gradually see increasing sunshine through the morning, but clouds stay quite plentiful through the day.

With a mix of clouds and sunshine, temperatures will have no trouble peaking in the 80s later in the day. Temperatures along the coast will be slightly cooler as the sea breeze sets up this afternoon, but away from the beaches, daytime highs will soar into the mid 80s.

A few showers will be possible by midday, but the favored spots for rain will be deep inland toward the interior part of the peninsula. Our rain chances today should only be around 30%.

We've got another muggy, warm evening ahead with temperatures only settling down to the upper 60s, and the necessary ingredients will be in place for more fog to develop early Sunday morning.

Sunday will be a warm, sunny, and partly cloudy day with highs back to the mid 80s; any rain chance will be well inland and far from our coast.

The warm weather rolls along into the first half of the week, but an approaching cool front should bring in more clouds and a few showers late Wednesday into Thursday.

Our temperatures should drop a little Thursday and Friday with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, but our sky should stay fairly cloudy through the end of the week.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL
