6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

The hits just keep on coming for this first weekend of March. After what ended up being a glorious Saturday across Southwest Florida, we're in store for another nice, sunny and warmer Sunday.

We'll start the morning with a little patchy fog, which won't last too long. Sunshine will be the dominant weather player again today as temperatures climb all the way into the low to mid 80s.

Temps along the beaches will be a few degrees cooler thanks to the sea breeze, so places like Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, and Naples should only warm to 78-80 degrees this afternoon under full sunshine.

Rain will be absent from the forecast again today, and humidity levels will be very comfortable.

The warm, sunny and dry weather pattern carries over into the beginning of the week, and our temps will become a few degrees above average with daytime highs Monday through Wednesday in the mid 80s.

Humidity will slowly creep up through the course of the week, culminating with a strong weather system developing in the Gulf, which may bring some heavy rain and storms to the area by Thursday. Early signs point the potential for some strong thunderstorms Thursday, so we'll need to watch the severe potential closely as we go through time.

Once the storms exit early Friday, cooler and sunnier weather will follow just in time for the weekend!

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL
