FIRST WX-WX CENTER

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Increasing rain chances"

After several days of nothing but sunshine and warm weather, changes are just around the corner as we track a developing storm system in the Gulf of Mexico. This will enhance our rainfall potential as we head into the Thursday time frame.

Mostly sunny skies will prevail through the mid day hours, with more clouds developing through the afternoon. Daytime highs will stay nice and warm as they max out in the lower to middle 80s. Right at the coast, expect temperatures a few degrees cooler in the upper 70s. While most of us end up dry, we have about a 30% chance for a few isolated showers. With an onshore wind today, any rain that develops will aim toward areas east of the interstate and out by Lake Okeechobee.

Tonight, clouds will increase and temperatures will lower into the middle 60s.

As an area of low pressure evolves and tracks east across the northern gulf, our skies will become mostly cloudy tomorrow with the threat for scattered showers and a few stronger storms. Despite the rain, temperatures will manage to climb into the upper 70s to 80°, however once the rain ends from west to east overnight, cooler and drier weather will move in across Southwest Florida. Clouds will linger through the early morning hours on Friday with more sunshine breaking out during the day. By Saturday morning, we're looking at temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. The weekend looks fa Return to index of stories...

IT'S HER BODY REMINDING HER SHE'S NOT LIKE OTHER RUNNERS - SHE HAS MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS.

NATSOT:

KAYLA CAN RUN LONG DISTANCES WITHOUT FEELING PAIN IN HER LEGS - SOME MIGHT SAY AN ADVANTAGE - BUT WHEN SHE STOPS, HER LEGS CRUMPLE UNDERNEATH HER AND HER COACH NEEDS TO CATCH HER TO KEEP HER FROM FALLING.

SOT KAYLA:

"Anybody with a more complex history or even on physical exam, if you were to detect anything more complicated beyond the scope of this practice we would refer them to an urgent care or the emergency department, whichever was appropriate."

From the air, it was hard to tell what was there. In reality, neighbors described three townhomes that no longer exist.

A large crew from PSE and G was repairing a gas Leak caused by a subcontractor when a spark set off the explosion. In all, 7 people were injured in the blast.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL
