The stage is set for another gorgeous weekend across Southwest Florida with full sunshine and low humidity all weekend long.

Temperatures managed to drop all the way into the 40s to start our Saturday morning, but we'll see a nice warm up through the day with low 70s expected by noon and mid 70s for those daytime highs.

With the air becoming so dry today, rain won't be in the forecast whatsoever, and we'll stay dry Sunday as well.

NATS - MASSAGE

THIS MAY LOOK LIKE A RELAXING, LUXURIOUS AND LEISURLY MASSAGE.

BUT IT'S ACTUALLY HELPING LAWANA WILEY IN WAYS WE CAN'T EVEN SEE.

17:35 -

When it swells up to a certain extent, if I do too much, I have to wrap it at night 17:39

THAT SWELLING IN HER ARM IS A SIDE EFFECT OF BREAST CANCER.

LAWANA WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 3 IN 2011.

DOCTORS REMOVED SOME OF HER LYMPH NODES DURING ONE OF HER SURGERIES.CAUSING FLUID TO BUILD UP INSIDE HER BODY.

IT'S A CONDITION CALLED "LYMPHEDEMA"

I was a little bit stunned. I had no idea what it was, what the implications were or any of that

CLAIRE HAUENSTEIN SURE KNOWS WHAT IT IS.

SHE'S HAD LYMPHEDEMA SINCE 2002.SHORTLY AFTER SHE WAS ALSO DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER.

2:21 - 2:25

I said to my husband one day, "My arms seems swollen, I had this swelling in my arm

AT THE TIME.

CLAIRE HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE DISORDER WAS AND SOON REALIZED OTHER WOMEN WERE IN THE SAME BOAT.

SO SHE DECIDED TO FOUND "LYMPHEDEMA RESOURCES" HERE IN LEE COUNTY.

IN THE PAST NINE YEARS.KOMEN HAS GIVEN THE GROUP MORE THAN $200,000 TO HELP MORE THAN 500 PEOPLE GET THE MASSAGE THERAPY AND COMPRESSION GARMENTS THEY NEED TO KEEP THEIR LYMPHEDEMA UNDER WRAPS.

THAT HELP CAME FOR LAWANA AT A TIME SHE NEEDED IT THE MOST.

16:36 -

What else can happen? You know I lost my job, I was diagnoseo with cancer, thinking i would have a job to go back to 16:45

NO JOB MEANT NO HEALTH INSURANCE FOR LAWANA.

THE THERAPY YOU'RE SEEING RIGHT NOW CAN RUN $75 EACH.

LYMPHEDEMA RESOURCES WILL PAY FOR TEN SESSIONS FOR LAWANA.AND ALSO BUY HER COMPRESSION GARMENTS.WHICH CAN COSTS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

NATS --

LAWANA MAY HAVE TO DEAL WITH LYMPHEDEMA FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE.

BUT -- SHE'S GRATEFUL CLAIRE'S GROUP HAS HELPED HER FIND A HEALING TOUCH.

Through them it's possible

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

The stage is set for another gorgeous weekend across Southwest Florida with full sunshine and low humidity all weekend long.

Temperatures managed to drop all the way into the 40s to start our Saturday morning, but we'll see a nice warm up through the day with low 70s expected by noon and mid 70s for those daytime highs.

With the air becoming so dry today, rain won't be in the forecast whatsoever, and we'll stay dry Sunday as well.

After what ended up being a very breezy Friday, winds relax substantially today with a northeasterly breeze only around 5-10 mph.

Another cool night is on tap tonight, but instead of cooling into the 40s, most of us will only drop into the mid 50s. The exception will be our inland communities where temperatures may come close to the upper 40s by sunrise Sunday.

We're on track to see another beautiful day tomorrow. The only difference is temperatures will be a touch warmer with highs climbing into the low 80s by the afternoon.

The warmth and humidity gradually make a comeback as we start the week. Monday and Tuesday will be a bit warmer with highs aimed for the mid 80s along with some more patchy clouds mixed with sunshine.

The next chance for showers comes Wednesday as another cool front moves through Southwest Florida, which will send another batch of cooler weather for the second half of the week.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...
