6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

It's a great start to our Sunday morning across Southwest Florida, and that's a sign of what's to come for the rest of the day.

With the exception of a little fog, our sky will stay clear and quiet through the first half of the day, allowing ample sunshine along with very comfortable temperatures.

Highs will reach the low 80s for most of the area today. The beaches and coastal zones will stay slightly cooler as the winds come off the Gulf in the afternoon.

Our winds will be light out of the east from 5-10 mph, and humidity levels will stay low and pleasant.

If you're planning on heading out to Fort Myers Beach for the Shrimp Festival, expect a clear and sunny day with highs in the upper 70s. The forecast also looks great for the boaters and beach goers with seas only at 1-2 feet and the Gulf water temperature at 71 degrees.

Rain will stay out of the forecast again today, and our weather remains dry for Monday and Tuesday as well.

The next chance for showers arrives Wednesday as another cool front moves through Southwest Florida, which will send another batch of cooler weather for the second half of the week.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL
