5:02 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"A warm Tuesday"

It was a beautiful start to the week across Southwest Florida, with cool mornings and warm afternoons. Our stretch of dry weather will continue through Tuesday, before showers make a return to the area by Wednesday.

Temperatures this morning won't be as cool, as most of us will start the day in the upper 50s to lower 60s. With light winds and clear skies overnight, areas of patchy fog will be a concern around sunrise, especially across our inland communities. Once the fog mixes out, mostly sunny skies will prevail through the mid day hours. We'll even notice a few mid and high level clouds working their way in from the west keeping skies partly sunny at times. As winds start to veer more out of the south, expect daytime highs to warm quickly this afternoon. Away from the coast, expect thermometer readings in the lower to middle 80s, while beaches and coastal locations are a few degrees cooler due to the gulf breeze kicking in.

Clouds will increase a bit tonight and temperatures will be even milder, as they settle into the lower to middle 60s area wide.

By mid week, we'll be tracking another system traversing the Gulf of Mexico. This will keep more clouds than sun across the region on Wednesday with scattered showers back in the forecast. As the cold front passes by late Wednesday and into early Thursday, cooler and drier weather will return in its wake. Daytime highs will return to the middle and upper 70s, with morning lows in the upper 40s by Friday. This will set the stage for another delightful weekend with mostly to partly sunny skies and comfortable humidity values. Return to index of stories...

5:32 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL
