COOLER WEATHER ON THE WAY

Wednesday featured partly sunny skies and a few scattered showers north of Ft. Myers as a cool front works through the area. The scattered showers will diminish this evening, with temps falling into the 70s. Skies will clear out overnight, with lows in the low 60s.

Behind the front, much cooler air will push into the region. We'll see almost total sunshine on Thursday, but despite the sun highs will only climb into the low 70s. Expect a very cool Thursday Night, with lows falling into the mid and upper 40s.

We will start a warming trend to close the work week. Sunshine will again bathe the region on Friday, with highs back in the upper 70s. A few locations inland will likely push into the low 80s.

The weekend is looking 50/50, with the better day being Saturday. Mostly sunny skies will prevail on Saturday, with highs back in the low 80s.

On Sunday, more moisture returns the region. This will result in increasing clouds and the chance for a few scattered showers. Highs on Sunday will push into the mid 80s.

Unsettled weather is looking likely as we head into next week. We'll see plenty of cloud cover with day-to-day chances of scattered showers. Right now, it looks like the best chance for rain will be Monday. Highs next week will hold in the low 80s.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.
