THIS IS THE MERCURY THAT HAS CLOSED A DESOTO MIDDLE SCHOOL SINCE MONDAY AND FORCED A FAMILY FROM THEIR HOME.

THIS HOUSE BEHIND ME IS WHERE SIX CHILDREN WERE CONTAMINATED BY THE DANGEROUS TOXIN.

HIS RELATIVE TELLS ME HE HAD NO IDEA HOW DANGEROUS MERCURY IS-- IT SIMPLY CAUGHT HIS ATTENTION.

A SHOW AND TELL GONE WRONG--

54:50-54:52 "I found out Monday like everyone else did."

-CONTAMINATING A MIDDLE SCHOOL AND AT LEAST TWO DE SOTO HOMES WITH MERCURY.

58:58-59:01 "It was a mere mistake."

THIS WOMAN ASKED US NOT TO SHOW HER FACE OR USE HER NAME OUT OF FEAR.

SHE'S A RELATIVE OF THE BOY WHO TOOK THE DANGEROUS SUBSTANCE TO CLASS -- AND HAS BROUGHT ARCADIA TO A HALT.

55:08-55:15 "And of course you know grand kids they being their clothes, their blankets, and their pillows. That's how we were contaminated. "

FORCING HER OUT OF HER HOUSE- SO THE E-P-A CAN CLEAN OUT THE POISONOUS CHEMICAL.

57:51-57:55 "When we left there, we couldn't take nothing. A tooth brush as a set of clothes. "

THIS IS BRAND NEW VIDEO OF THE MERCURY THE BOY HAD IN HIS HOME.

INSIDE-5 POUNDS OF THE TOXIN.

59:23-59:31 "Mercury is an odd thing and it gets the children's attention and that's all it done. It got his attention. "

AND NOW THE ATTENTION OF FEDERAL- STATE- AND LOCAL OFFICIALS.

55:08-55:15"Kids are kids. The boy had no idea what he had. Just something he wanted to share with his friends."

TONIGHT-HAZMAT CREWS CONTINUE TO SALVAGE WHAT THEY CAN FROM THE BOY'S HOUSE.

WHILE THIS WOMAN WANTS THE PEOPLE OF ARCADIA TO KNOW--THE BOY MADE A MISTAKE.

55:51-55:54 "he didn't think anything about hurting anybody or hurting anything."

TAG

IT COULD COST UP TO 100 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO CLEAN UP A HOUSE -- DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF MERCURY DISCOVERED INSIDE.

THE E-P-A ESTIMATES IT WON'T BE UNTIL NEXT WEEK THAT THIS HOME AND THE SCHOOL ARE GIVEN THE ALL CLEAR.

We've been friends so many years. talked so many times about the inevitability of dying and we all knew we were gonna. so he accepted that because walt accepted life as it came.

IN WALTS OWN WORDS -HE DRIFTED OFF THIS MORTAL COIL SUNDAY, MARCH 9TH 2014, IN PUNTA GORDA FLA. HIS SPIRIT WAS RELEASED FROM HIS WORN-OUT SHELL OF A BODY AND IS NOW EXPLORING THE UNIVERSE.

25:57-26:04

And hiya walt. Cause I know he's enjoying this.

HE WAS SURROUNDED BY HIS LOVING WIFE OF 57 YEARS , HELENE SELLERS BRUHL, WHO WILL NOW BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THE MINK COAT WHICH HE HAD ALWAYS REFUSED HER BECAUSE HE BELIEVED ONLY MINKS SHOULD WEAR MINK.

26:18-26:23

And Walt never refused his wife anything. They were wonderful.

WALT WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS TONSILS AND ADENOIDS IN 1935; A SPINAL DISC IN 1974; A LARGE PIECE OF HIS THYROID GLAND IN 1988; AND HIS PROSTATE ON MARCH 27, 2000.

26:39 - 26:44

And never his sense of humor. never. He never lost that.

AND HIS PLAN FOR AFTERLIFE - DIDN'T SURPRISE NANCY AND ED TURNER EITHER.

THERE WILL BE NO VIEWING SINCE HIS WIFE REFUSES TO HONOR HIS REQUEST TO HAVE HIM STANDING IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM WITH A GLASS OF JACK DANIELS IN HIS HAND. SO HE WOULD APPEAR NATURAL TO VISITORS.

27:00 27:16

Well we would play bridge down in Dewey beach and for years and years at their cottage down there and that was one of the caveat - when i die by god you're going - by heaven - you're going to put me up in the corner with a glass of jack in my hand and that's how i'm going out. And he did.
