Dan Mullaly/9:30:18 "that's the biggest thing, it just turns my stomach."

THURSDAY NIGHT, MARCH 13TH.

DAN MULLALY GETS A KNOCK ON HIS DOOR.

Dan Mullaly/9:24:53 "I've seen the two individuals walking around the neighborhood earlier in day."

MULLALY SAYS AT HIS DOORSTEP - A HUSBAND AND WIFE DECKED OUT IN FATIGUES.

THE DUO SAID THEY WORKED FOR S-T-G-R - A COMPANY CALLED SURPLUS TACTICAL GEAR - AND THEY WERE SELLING SIGNS LIKE THESE.

Dan Mullaly/9:25:16 "the drop on it was due to the issues going on in collier county with the home invasions and the highlighted publicity has caused."

MULLALY SAYS THE CONVERSATION QUICKLY ESCALATED FROM A SALES PITCH - TO WHAT HE FELT WAS A CASING OF HIS HOME.

Dan Mullaly/9:25:26 "the questions were do you have an alarm, do you have firearms in a house, how many people live in your dwelling and how many kids do you have - those are kind of red flags all put together."

MULLALY'S FOLLOWED THE FOUR HOME INVASIONS IN THE NEWS --

TWO FAMILIES IN THE CITY OF NAPLES AND TWO IN THE COUNTY BOUND BY MASKED MEN AND HELD AT GUNPOINT.

NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE.

MULLALY IMMEDIATELY CALLED DEPUTIES.

HE WASN'T ALONE - DEPUTIES SAY OTHER RESIDENTS CALLED IN ABOUT THE COUPLE.

911 call: "I had two suspicious things happen. The fella said we came from Lehigh and I'm going around the neighborhood to tell people if they put these signs on their lawns, they'll be safe because of the home invasions."

Cp. Efrain Hernandez/CCSO/10:04:43 "we want to investigate, just to make sure it's legit and if it's not, we look to see what they're up to investigate."

NBC2 OBTAINED THE INCIDENT REPORT FROM THE COLLIER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE.

THE REPORT SAYS "A PHONE NUMBER PROVIDED BY THE SUBJECTS APPEARS TO BE CONNECTED TO A BUSINESS IN LEHIGH ACRES - WHICH HAS BEEN ADMINISTRATIVELY DISSOLVED BY FLORIDA AND HENCE IS NOT LEGALLY ACTIVE."

WE TRIED KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF THAT ADDRESS

BUT NO ANSWER.

AND OUR PHONE CALLS TO S-T-G-R

WERE NOT RETURNED.

NEIGHBORS SAY WITH 4 HOME INVASIONS ACROSS THE COUNTY IN THE LAST MONTH - YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO CAUTIOUS.

Bill Hamilton/Golden Gate/9:36:24 "you gotta figure eh, is this going to happen to me next? you got to feel for the families that are getting this."

THEN IN JANUARY, DEAN SAYS HER CAR WAS DAMAGED TWICE IN THE SCHOOL PARKING LOT.

INVESTIGATORS SAY THIS SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS LEONARD WALK PAST DEAN'S CAR TURNING BACK TO LOOK AT IT. SOMETHING THEY SAY WAS SUSPICIOUS. 3 DAYS LATER DEAN SAYS LEONARD ACTUALLY BACKED INTRO HER CAR WHILE PARKING.

""I would never take away from Mr. Leonard his recognition as a good teacher, but you can't threaten to kill someone and think it's ok or you're above the law."

A RESTRAINING ORDER DEAN FILED AGAINST LEONARD IS STILL PENDING.

QUIET WEATHER FOR FRIDAY

Low clouds and fog once again developed across the area Thursday morning, with sunshine returning by afternoon. Temps this evening will fall into the 60s with mostly clear skies. Low clouds and fog will once again develop overnight, with lows in the low 60s.

Some moisture will return into the region for the start of the weekend. We'll see mostly cloudy skies on Saturday, with a slight chance of rain shower. The best chance for rain looks to be in inland areas. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid 80s.

Drier weather works into the region on Sunday. Expect partly cloudy skies and highs again in the mid 80s.

Our next storm system will arrive in the region early next week. This will bring a return to cloud cover and scattered rain showers. Right now, the best chance for rain looks to be Tuesday.

Another weak system may be impact the area late next week.
