FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

MORNING FOG, THEN MOSTLY SUNNY

We will once again see fog forming in Southwest Florida this morning. That fog will likely linger for a little while and mix out as we head into the mid to late morning time frame. Right now it looks like the fog scenario shouldn't stick around quite as long today as it did yesterday.

By late morning to midday, we'll see mostly sunny skies and that is what we will continue with through the day. Afternoon highs will be near 80 degrees at the beaches and into the mid 80s in inland warm spots.

More cloud cover will begin to arrive as we head through the night, but there could still be some fog for you morning plans on Saturday, too. Lows tonight will be in the mid 60s and tomorrow we'll head back into the low to mid 80s. Through the day Saturday, cloud cover will continue to increase and we could even pick up a stray shower. The best chance for that stray shower will be aimed toward our deeper inland areas. Sunday looks to be a little sunnier without much change in temperatures. Then into next week, we'll see another storm system that will bring the chance for some showers by Tuesday. Return to index of stories...

FUGITIVE FRIDAY-5 SS

We're starting off our list with a man whose violent behavior has landed him

a spot on Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted list. Henry Bautista is wanted for

fleeing the area, after failing to show up for trial this spring on charges of false

imprisonment, battery and resisting officers. The victim was a woman Bautista

had been in a relationship with, but when she chose to sever ties, Bautista went

into a rage, pinning the woman down on the floor, covering her nose and mouth

so she couldn't breathe, and threatening to kill her and her family if she didn't

stay with him. She was eventually able to bite Bautista's hand, and seized the

opportunity to run away and get help. Detectives arrested Bautista shortly after

the incident - but he was released a day later, after posting a small bond. When

it came time for trial, though, he was a no show, and now he's on the run and

on the radar of the US Marshals Service. Bautista was last known to be living in

Matlacha and will be held without bond, and forced to go to trial, upon his arrest.

And in Collier County, deputies are on the hunt for Jamie Lynn Croft, wanted

for violating terms of her probation on the heels of an arrest for the possession

of heroin and drug paraphernalia. This 28 year old fugitive has a history of drug

use and abuse in Naples, and a violent streak with priors for assault and battery

with a deadly weapon, the unlawful possession of mace or ammunition and drug

possession in Massachusetts. Croft is 5'4", 120 pounds and may be living in

Cape Coral, possibly working as a waitress.

Also on the run this week is 29 year old Sean Hannon, a repeat offender with

four felony warrants for his arrest in Lee County. Over the years, Hannon has

been jailed 14 times before on a multitude of charges including a long list of

burglaries and thefts, dealing in stolen property, fraud, battery, DUI and failing

to comply with court orders. His violent nature has also led to two order of

protection being issued against him. Hannon is a registered convicted felon,

who may have left the area to the east coast, where he has known connections.

He is 6'1", 170 pounds and has sleeved tattoos on both arms. Upon his arrest,

Hannon will be held without bond.

And rounding out our list is Ricky Kunkel, wanted for violating terms of his state

probation after being arrested on drug charges in Collier County. This 51 year

old fugitive is well rounded in the world of crime, with an array of arrests ranging

from aggravated stalking, multiple counts of burglary, drug trafficking, DUI, and

obtaining a controlled substance by fraud - just to name a few. Although his

current warrant is out of Naples, Kunkel also has ties to Lee County - where he's

been arrested 13 times before - and Tennessee - where he's been jailed on

drug charges. Kunkel may be hiding out in south Fort Myers, operating under the

alias of Joseph Plank. Return to index of stories...

U.S. and Australian search planes again descended on a remote part of the

southern Indian Ocean -- about 15-hundred miles off the Australian

coast.

They're looking for these objects thought to be debris from Flight 370.

It's a daunting task.

SOT Tony Abbott, Australian PM

"IT'S ABOUT THE MOST INACCESSABLE SPOT THAT YOU COULD IMAGINE ON THE FACE OF

THE EARTH. BUT IF THERE IS ANYTHING DOWN THERE, WE WILL FIND IT. WE OWE IT

TO THE FAMILIES OF THOSE PEOPLE TO DO NO LESS. "

Parts of the ocean are more than 2 miles deep or 14 Empire State

Buildings piled end to end.

Today the teams took advantage of better weather, after battling clouds and

rain on Thursday.

But they still didn't find anything.

SOT Hussein

"THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG HAUL. / THE FOCUS IS TO REDUCE THE AREA OF THE

SEARCH."

For the families and friends of the 239 people onboard -- the wait is

agonizing.

SOT Sarah Bajc

"I BELIEVE PHILLIP IS STILL ALIVE AND IF THAT IS PART OF THE PLANE, THEN

THAT KIND OF DASHES THAT HOPE."

Also, this morning, questions about why it took the Malaysians so long to

move the search into the southern Indian Ocean.

A satellite company tells ABC News back on March 9 it had an "initial idea"

that the search should move south and shared that information.

The Malaysians say they recalibrated their search as soon as the data was

confirmed.

BELIEVE IT." Return to index of stories...

NBC'S PETER ALEXANDER REPORTS. Return to index of stories...

FIRST LADY CHINA-TRX PKG

They make an impressive pair: First Lady Michelle Obama and her charismatic host today, China's first lady, Madame Peng -- a celebrated folk singer and fashion icon at home.

It's a highly anticipated visit to a country whose relationship with the U-S is complicated, at best.

"The message of this trip is really that the relationship between the United States and China isn't just between leaders, it's also between people."

Accompanying the First Lady: the first daughters and their grandmother -- three generations, a subtle gesture to the importance of family in traditional Chinese culture.

The Obama girls -- who have traveled to the U-K, Botswana and South Africa -- may take particular interest in this trip, especially 12-year-old Sasha, who took Mandarin classes and even tried out a few words on China's past president during a state visit.

On tap? Three stops. First, Beijing. touring the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.

Then, a trip to Xi'an and the Terra Cotta Warriors.

Finally, Chengdu and its famed pandas.

The White House insists this week-long visit is designed to emphasize cultural ties and education.

. intentionally steering clear of controversial topics, that past first ladies -- including Hillary Clinton -- addressed head on.

"It is no longer acceptable to discuss women's rights as separate from human rights."

Laura Bush accused China of not doing enough to pressure Burma's brutal regime.

Bush's former chief of staff, Anita McBride, says Mrs. Obama has chosen to leave politics to the president.

"I think people may have had an expectation that she would engage in other issues, even before this trip to China. But she is doing exactly what she wants to do."

BIKINI GIRLS COLLEGE AD-PKG

"We're voting for Luke, are you?"

MOST DID NOT VOTE FOR LUKE DZIERZANOWSKI. BUT THEY MAY REMEMBER HIS VIDEO. IT SHOWS HIM SURROUNDED BY GIRLS IN SKIMPY BIKINIS.

THEY FROLIC IN THE POOL OR JUMP ON A TRAMPOLINE WHILE HE SMOKES A CIGAR - THE WHOLE TIME NOT SAYING A WORD.

"All he was kind of doing was saying, hey I chill and hang out with girls, I don't see how that's supposed to make me vote for him."

"I wasn't sure if it was a good tactic for an election like this."

AN ELECTION KELSEY MOSS WON. SHE THINKS LUKE'S VIDEO HURT HIM, BUT NOT BECAUSE OF THE NEARLY NAKED GIRLS.

"He definitely achieved his goal in getting all the attention because it was something everyone did talk about and it was spread out everywhere, but I don't think it like conveyed a message."

MANY THOUGHT IT CONVEYED THE WRONG MESSAGE. THIS EDITORIAL IN THE DAILY AZTEC SLAMS THE AD. THE WRITER CALLS IT SEXIST AND DEGRADING. WE TALKED TO LUKE BEFORE THE ELECTION RESULTS WERE ANNOUNCED. HE TOLD US HE WAS JUST TRYING TO BE FUNNY.

"Although maybe people see me as unorthodox, I work very well with others as well, and I think me being very approachable would be a good dynamic to add to the group." Return to index of stories...

NEW YORKERS WHO'VE SEEN SO-CALLED SPIDER MEN SCALE THE NEW YORK TIMES BUILDING AND BROOKLYN BRIDGE IN RECENT YEARS SAID THE PORT AUTHORITY -- MAY HAVE GOTTEN LAX ABOUT OVERNIGHT SECURITY.

"If you don't mind just settin' up a little further back. The Port Authority with the rules and all."

AND WHEN I TRIED TO ENTER THE SITE WITH MY PRESS CREDENTIAL, I WAS TURNED AWAY.
