HELLO-2 SHPUSH

GOOD MORNING AND WELCOME TO NBC-2 NEWS TODAY.

YOU ARE TAKING LIVE PICTURE FROM OUTSIDE NBC-2 STUDIOS.

THANKS FOR JOING US. I'M RICK RITTER

AND I'M CHRISTY ANDREWS.

JASON? Return to index of stories...

WEATHER-WX CENTER

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

After another round of fog and low clouds in spots this morning, we're in store for another relatively sunny day as clouds mix in with sunshine through the afternoon.

Today will likely be a touch warmer than Saturday with more places getting up to the 85-87 degree range, except for our coastal communities where the sea breeze should cap off temps in the low 80s.

Today should end up being another mainly dry day, but as we head into the evening and overnight period, clouds will start increasing from the west as moisture flows in ahead of our next cool front.

A few showers and storms could build in as early as Monday afternoon, and our forecast looks to stay unsettled through the first half of Tuesday.

A decent late-season cool down is on the way by mid week with overnight lows dropping into the 50s Wednesday and Thursday morning; daytime temps will be coolest Wednesday afternoon with temperatures only peaking in the mid 70s.

Moisture will creep back into the picture toward the end of the week, bringing rain and even some thunderstorms to our forecast by the Thursday/Friday time frame.

At this point, it's looking like the rain will clear out by the upcoming weekend, leaving us with partly cloud and warm weather with highs back in the mid 80s. Return to index of stories...

IT'S ESTIMATED 12 PERCENT OF THE US POPULATION WILL DEVELOP SOME

DR. WILLIAM KOKAL/GENERAL SURGEON

RUNS:

1:48 Our typical work up is, we get an ultrasound with a biopsy and if that shows

suspicion for cancer or cancer then we would do surgery. Other times we would do

surgery again if it's compressing the swallowing tubes.

AMY OSHIER/REPORTING

RUNS:

Having a thyroid that just doesn't work right is the more common scenario. An

underactive or overactive thyroid impacts the body's hormone production. The

overactive- or hyperthyroidism is the more serious condition and more difficult to

manage. So in many instances, surgeons will remove the gland entirely through a

minimally invasive procedure.

DR. WILLIAM KOKAL/GENERAL SURGEON

RUNS:

7:24 We make a far smaller incision, rather than an incision from one side of the neck

to the other we make an incision an inch or less. 2:32 It's an incision a curval incision in

the base of the neck in a skin crease. It's done in the skin crease to hide the scar.

WHILE THE THYROID PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN STABILIZING

CRIME STOPPERS-PKG

Richard Henski was a 35 year old man at the top of his game and in the prime of his life.

Loved by friends and family, he is the last person they thought would end up shot to

death in his own driveway.

Bill Berger - "When you're around him, you can't be sad. He was just a great, great

person. He wasn't harming anybody. He was kind of like the entertainment for everyone.

He was just a joy to be around."

But that joy turned to darkness in April 2012, when Henski was found murdered. His

killer, to this day, remains unknown and at large - something that doesn't sit well with

those he left behind.

Bill Berger - "I'm angry. I'm sad for the family, I'm sad for us, I'm sad for Ricky. But

for the person who is still out there, I'm angry."

Trish Routte: Richard Henski was the guy who would drop whatever he was doing to

help anyone, anytime. And of all the lives he touched, there's a seven year old girl who

still struggles daily with one simple question - why?

Amy Berger, - "She has begged me to ask anyone with information to contact the

authorities because I want to know who killed my Uncle Ski and why. Because we need

to know."

His best friend, Bill Berger, keeps in frequent contact with Henski's family, who live up

north. Every day is a struggle, as they wait for answers.

Bill Berger - "He wants to know why. He knows he raised a good kid. He knows he

had good morals. And off of a sudden he's dead in his driveway and nobody can explain

why? That's tough."

The key to unlocking this mystery murder will hopefully come from someone who

perhaps knew Henski - or even heard rumors about who was involved in his brutal and

senseless murder.

Bill Berger - "If anyone does know, do the right thing. Whomever you're protecting,

they don't deserve it. They don't deserve it."
