5:02 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Dry today, with rain on the way"

It was a pretty nice weekend filled with sunshine and very warm weather. Temperatures will remain warm in the short term, before a cold front brings rain and a few storms followed by a brief cool down.

This morning starts off mild and somewhat muggy with temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Mostly sunny skies will get the day going, with partly sunny conditions through the afternoon. Daytime highs will climb into the middle to upper 80s, along with a breezy wind from the south and southwest.

Tonight, clouds will be on the increase ahead of our next storm system and there may even be a stray shower washing in from the Gulf of Mexico overnight. Humidity levels will stay high, keeping our nighttime temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s area wide.

A cold font will be crossing the peninsula on Tuesday, bringing us a threat for rain and a few storms by late morning through the afternoon hours. At this time, the severe weather risk looks low, however some of the storms that push through could produce some heavier downpours and gusty winds. Once the rain fades and the front pushes south, breezy northerly winds will usher in a cooler and drier airmass. This cool down will be brief, as we'll spend two nights in the 50s, with daytime highs rebounding quickly back into the 80s by Thursday. Return to index of stories...

FOR THAT PHANTOM BOEING 777.

THE FIRST TWO.ABOUT A MILE APART. BY A CHINESE NAVY SHIP WITH A HAND-

DETECTING THOSE SOUNDS IN SUCH DEEP WATER.

Overnight THE LEAD AUSTRALIAN SHIP--OCEAN SHIELD-- USING A U-S MADE BLACK-

BOX LOCATOR HEARD THE THIRD PING ABOUT 350 MILES AWAY.

Nance: they've got to be hearing two different things because the pingers

on the black boxes can't travel more than a few miles. it's definitely two

different things.

THERE IS NOTHING TO confirm any of THE PINGS ARE COMING FROM THE MISSING

PLANE'S BLACK BOXES WHOSE BATTERIES ARE ON THE VERGE OF LOSING POWER.

THE BRITISH NAVY SHIP H-M-S ECHO WITH MUCH MORE SOPHISTICATED SOUND

EQUIPMENT JOINED THE SEARCH.

Nance: if they hear anything they will be able to send down a drone for

things they'll be able to get to the source of whatever that noise is. and

if it is coming from the black boxes they will be able to find it without

5:32 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story
