"Showers and storms move in today"

Our streak of warm days with plenty of sunshine will come to an end today as showers and storms move in ahead of our next cold front. In its wake, a cooler and drier airmass will filter down the peninsula allowing for sunnier weather to return for the end of the week.

Skies will stay mostly cloudy through the late morning hours, and the winds will kick up ahead of a line of showers and t-storms currently located out in the Gulf of Mexico. Expect the rain to approach our far northern counties by late morning. This line will continue to sag south and east through the afternoon, keeping our daytime highs in the low 80s. The severe weather risk remains low, with heavier downpours and gusty winds being the main threats.

The rain will begin to weaken as it pulls away from Southwest Florida, and quiet conditions will be in store for the rest of the night. Temperatures will also be about 10° cooler as they bottom out in the lower 60s by tomorrow morning.

High pressure will build in across the state on Wednesday allowing skies to clear and the sunshine to return. Winds will be quite gusty out of the north and northwest as it sends in cooler and drier air. Daytime highs will remain unseasonably cool as they top out in the upper 70s. By Thursday morning, temperatures will dip into the middle 50s with a nice warm up during the day as highs warm into the lower half of the 80s. Mainly dry and partly sunny skies will remain in the forecast through the weekend. Return to index of stories...

ONE AREA OF PERSONAL FINANCES THAT CAN SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT YOUR RETIREMENT PLAN IS DIVORCE.

FINANCIAL ADVISOR NICK CLUMSKY IS HERE WITH INSIGHT.

SO NICK - WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUR VIEWERS, IN THE MIDDLE OF A DIVORCE OR CONSIDERING DIVORCE, TO BEST PREPARE FOR THEIR FINANCIAL FUTURE? Return to index of stories...

WELLS FARGO-PLASMA CG

· You know, divorce is a topic we've spent very little time talking about in the past and one that unfortunately can have the greatest impact on the strength of your retirement plan and therefore your peace and security during what should be your golden years.

· In our profession, a big part of my business is following trends. One disturbing trend is the increasing divorce rate in America. But it goes a little further than that. In the past we related divorce to younger people who had been married no longer than seven years and then decided they had made a mistake and got divorced. The real disturbing trend is the divorce rate among baby boomers today. Now these are people that are in their 50's and 60's and have been married for decades. Now retirement planning has always been a challenge for baby boomers. But financial planning for divorced baby boomers is on a whole other level. So if you are in the middle of a divorce or considering a divorce, consider these financial tips.

· First, gather all financial documents that you may need for the divorce proceedings. These will include year-end statements for bank accounts, brokerage accounts, and credit card statements as well as any loan accounts you may have including car loans, home mortgages, etc. Other documents you will need to track down are income tax returns, life insurance policies, and any pension or profit sharing plans you have. Your financial advisor and/or your divorce attorney can provide you a detailed financial information checklist to help you gather and organize these documents.

· Second, review and assess your credit. Request a copy of your credit report and make sure to correct anything that isn't correct. As you begin your new life, good credit will be the foundation of your financial future. And throughout the divorce proceedings, review your credit regularly to ensure your soon-to-be-X isn't borrowing money under your name.

· Third, open bank accounts and credit cards in your name alone. This will allow you to begin separating your finances from your spouse. Also, apply for credit cards in your name alone early in the divorce process when household income is likely to be higher which will increase your chances of not only being approved for the credit card but getting the highest credit limit possible.

· Last, assemble your professional divorce team. Your team should include a family law or divorce attorney, a Certified Financial Planner knowledgeable in divorce financial planning, and quite possibly a therapist or family counselor that can help you through this tough transition. By following all of these steps, you will increase your chances of having a smooth transition from married life to single life but also increase your chances of rebuilding a retirement plan that will provide stability and security for the rest of your life. It common to have a quiet room set up near the ICU, because family members don't want to go far away from their loved one. They could end up spending hours, even days here.

SABRINA SANFORT/REGISTERED NURSE

:29 It's heart-wrenching for a nurse to see how families go through this anticipatory grief of losing a loved one. So you want to help, sometimes you feel lost, you feel like I can't do any more for the patients, so what more can I do for the family to make this easier.

OUT OF THAT SENSE OF CARING, THE COMFORT CART WAS CONCEIVED.

FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

DEPUTIES SAVE MAN-PKG

PATROL CAR DASH CAM VIDEO ROLLED AS 3 DEPUTIES ARRIVED TO FIND A 24-YEAR-OLD MAN STANDING ON THE TOP RAIL OF THE BAY PINES BRIDGE.

UPSET ABOUT FINANCIAL PROBLEMS AND CONCERNS ABOUT A GIRLFRIEND, THE MAN THREATENED TO LEAP INTO THE WATER BELOW.

"I worried that he was gonna actually jump off the bridge. I believe that he had every intent of jumping off of that bridge."

SO THE DEPUTIES DEVISED A PLAN.

"Corporal Brueckner had kind of motioned me over to move around to the side. Corporal Brueckner then approached to try and get his attention just on him."

"So I just basically moved to draw his attention away from Troy who snuck around behind him and was able to snatch him off the wall."

IT HAPPENED FAST, WITH THE MAN KICKING IN PROTEST.

THE DEPUTIES USED THEIR "CRISIS INTERVENTION TRAINING" AND EXPERIENCE TO GET THE MAN OFF THE RAILING AND SAFE.

"It turned out to be a win win for everybody. We got there on scene. We all were on the same page on what we were gonna do."

"As far as bridges go, the Bay Pines Bridge isn't especially tall. But down below, there is shallow water, and sharp oyster beds which could have proved to be fatal."

A YOUNG MAN AT HIS BREAKING POINT, UPSET AT THE WORLD, NOW HAS HIS LIFE AHEAD OF HIM, THANKS TO SERGEANT JEFF ESTERLINE, CORPORAL JIM BRUECKNER, AND DEPUTY TROY SAVETZ.
