6:02 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

The weekend forecast is shaping up nicely across Southwest Florida.

We're in store for plenty of warmth and sun, but there's also a slight chance for a couple late-day showers along the sea breeze.

Temperatures will be the main headline this weekend as afternoon highs get quite warm; most of the region will top out in the mid to upper 80s, but a few locations may even come very close to 90 degrees.

The breeze stays easterly through the weekend at 5-15 mph.

The atmosphere has moistened up a little over the last couple days, so chances are we won't make it through the weekend completely dry.

A few isolated, widely-spaced showers may pop during the late afternoon and evening both today and Sunday, but overall, rain chances will stay around 20% through the weekend.

As we head in the the upcoming week, we'll be tracking a weakening cool front approaching Southwest Florida by Tuesday and Wednesday. This front will most likely get stretched out and stall over South Florida, leaving us with higher rain chances and more cloud cover by the mid week.

Temperatures will continue today rather warm next week with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...

6:42 FIRST ALERT FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

ALTHOUGH 14 YEAR OLD ELIZABETH AND VICTORIA WILLARD ARE TWINS -- THEY HAD DIFFERENT ORTHODONTIC PROBLEMS,

"think this tooth, it's more twisted, while mine is a little bit better"

ONE THING THEY BOTH SHARED WAS THEIR DISLIKE FOR THE TRADITIONAL IMPRESSIONS

"i would always feel it going down my throat"

"i hated it, i had to re-do it at least 3 times"

"and it just feels nasty and you always feel it like throughout the entire day"

DOCTOR SCOTT TYLER HAS BEEN DOING THIS A LONG TIME

"25 years"

HE KNOWS HOW HIS SPECIALTY HAS EVOLVED

"you talk to anyone that's ever had braces they will either talk about head gear or impressions -- those are the two things that seem to stay with people"

HERE I AM TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM TO DEMONSTRATE THE MESSY PROCESS OF THE TRADITIONAL IMPRESSION. NOT ESPECIALLY PLEASANT

"well the advancement now is now we can create a digital impression of the teeth"

HERE'S VICTORIA HAVING HER DIGITAL IMPRESSION TAKEN

"it's really fast and it's like painless and it isn't bothersome at all"

THE ADVANCEMENT IS FAR MORE SIGNIFICANT THAN COMFORT, THE SCANS ARE FAR MORE ACCURATE

THE SYSTEM WORKS BY TAKING SEQUENTIAL HIGH RESOLUTION PICTURES OF EACH TOOTH SURFACE THAT ARE DIGITALLY STITCHED TOGETHER INTO A VIRTUAL 3 DIMENSIONAL MODEL -- WHICH TRANSLATES INTO MORE PRECISE TREATMENT PLANNING

"im looking at digital photographs and digital models that i can spin around blow up section i can cross section i can look at them from every axis

we have the ability to further tweak the teeth in the virtual world"

THIS MEANS SHORTER TREATMENT TIMES IN BRACES AND TRANSITIONING INTO COMFORTABLE CLEAR RETAINERS - LIKE INVISALIGN - MUCH EARLIER FOR ANY SMALL FINAL ADJUSTMENTS THAT NEED TO BE MADE

"if you have the opportunity to get invisalign instead of braces i would definitely take that"
