SANIBEL SUSPECT SEARCH-PKG

This police sketch by sanibel police is the only picture authorities have of their suspect. This is who authorities say has exposed himself to three different women, three different times. Two of his victims are teenagers.

Sot- resident --Sue Sorensen

that's scary. THat's so sad. I'm so sorry for her.

Police say, all three incidents happened at night between Thursday and Saturday.

the first victim - a 13 year old girl who saw him standing outside her

lanai---he told her " i just can't help myself. "

next, a 55 year old woman who woke up on her couch and saw him masterbating on her lanai.

most disturbing is what happened a 15 year old girl.

she woke up to find the guy standing in her room, touching her bottom while touching himself.

he got away through an open window.

Sot---police chief "that was obviously the most serious and most concerning. It's definitely a concerning issue and we want to get to the bottom of it as soon as possible. "

Police don't know if this person is a sanibel resident or a visitor.

SOT: police chief "it's unusual. we haven't had much of this time of activity before. so it's new for us."

Nbc2 sat down with psychologist dr mable lopez to find out how dangerous this behavior can be.

Sot: mable lopez---psychologist "individuals who commit sexual crimes are also prone to committing other types of crimes. they see children as objects and they are very likely to harm the people or child as well."

Police say residents need to make sure they are locking their windows and doors and keeping the curtains closed. Return to index of stories...

NAPLES PIER BATTERY ARREST-PKG

A TYPICAL DAY WITH NOT-SO-TYPICAL CONVERSATION AT THE NAPLES PIER.

Doina Ciabuca, local angler

15:13:28-:35

I've never heard something like this before here on the pier. To me it's impossible to think about Frank would do something like this.

WHAT FISHERMAN FRANK VITIELLO IS ACCUSED OF DOING OVER THE WEEKEND LANDED HIM IN JAIL.

Rich Emmert, Naples Pier visitor

15:12:05

Bad things happen when people raise their hands to you.

AROUND NOON SATURDAY BEACH PATROL SPECIALIST CASEY BOLLENBACK WAS TALKING WITH A GROUP OF FISHERMEN ABOUT THE CITY'S NEW FISHING ORDINANCES.

CITY COUNCIL RECENTLY BANNED TREBLE HOOKS TO PROTECT PELICANS.

IT WAS DURING THAT CONVERSATION THE OFFICER SAYS VITIELLO REACHED OUT AND TOUCHED HER.

John Boyle, Naples Pier visitor

15:10:43-:47

Public servants have a very difficult job. They have to enforce rules and regulations.

WHEN BOLLENBACK TOLD VITIELLO THAT WASN'T O-K, SHE SAYS HE APPEARED AGITATED AND WALKED AWAY.

ACCORDING TO THE INCIDENT REPORT, VITIELLO ADMITTED TO "PATTING HER ON THE FACE TO COMFORT HER" SAYING "IT'S OK."

HE TOLD THEM HE DIDN'T WANT BOLLENBACK TO FEEL LIKE THE FISHERMEN WERE GANGING UP ON HER.

Doina Ciabuca, local angler

15:12:43-:49

I've known Frank for over 10 years. He's a wonderful guy, helpful, helping everybody around here, the pelicans too.

THE NAPLES POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRESTED VITIELLO, CHARGING HIM WITH BATTERY.

PEOPLE WE SPOKE WITH WERE SPLIT WHETHER THE PUNISHMENT FITS THIS ALLEGED CRIME.

THE MAJORITY AGREED VITIELLO CROSSED THE LINE.

THIS VISITOR SAYS THERE IS A LEGAL WAY HE COULD'VE HANDLED IT.

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Increasing rain prospects"

The weekend was quite warm as daytime highs pushed into the middle to upper 80s. A few downpours managed to make their way across the state, however they were few and far between. It still looks like our rain prospects will be going up a bit, especially by mid week with the approach of another weather system.

Daytime temperatures climbed into the middle and upper 80s today, with a few of our inland spots briefly touching that 90° mark. Through the late afternoon hours, expect some clouds to mix in with our sunshine with the chance for a few spotty showers deeper inland. Otherwise the vast majority of us will end our Monday on a warm, humid, and dry note.

Tonight our skies should stay fairly quiet, but as our next system approaches cloud cover will be on the increase with partly cloudy conditions forecast. It will also be a very mild and muggy night as temperatures settle into the lower 70a area wide.

A south and southwesterly breeze ahead of the cold front will continue to pump in the warmth and humidity. Even though Tuesday calls for more clouds and the chance for a few scattered downpours, daytime highs will climb into the middle 80s. It looks like this front will run out of steam across Southwest Florida, which means we'll continue to be in an unsettled weather pattern through the second half of the week. Temperatures will remain in the 80s, while overnight lows settle into the 60s. As of right now, forecast models are hinting at a drier Easter weekend. Return to index of stories...

NEXT YEAR - THERE WILL BE A LOT OF NEW TEACHERS AT THE FORT MYERS SCHOOL.

COLONIAL ELEM AND FORT MYER MIDDLE ACADEMY AREN'T PERFORMING AS WELL AS THE DISTRICT WOULD LIKE.

Dr. Greg Adkins, Assit. Superintendent Operations

4:08:57 the most important piece of data we loom at is student growth: how much is a student going to grow in one year cs what they're predicted they should be growing in that year. 4:08:08

SO - THE DISTRICT IS BRINGING IN UP TO 20 NEW TEACHERS AT EACH SCHOOL. PLUS IT WILL ADD NEW PROGRAMS AND APPROACHES tHE CURRICULUM DIFFERNTLY- IT'S CALLED SCHOOL RECONSTITUTION.

kaleena lavariega, Parent

04:37:13 at first it's a shock, like why, what's going on? What's the change, what is this gonna happen at the school? 4:37:21

LAVARIEGA UNDERSTANDS THE GOAL IS TO HELP STUDENTS IMPROVE.

BUT IT LEAVES UP TO 40 TEACHERS IN LIMBO.

SOME ASKED TO BE TRANSFERRED - OTHERS WILL BE TRANSFERRED. STILL SOME AREN'T GETTING A NEW CONTRACT AND WILL HAVE TO REAPPLY TO WORK AT ANOTHER SCHOOL.

Donna Mutzenard, Teacher's Union

This doesn't mean theyre bad teachers.

UNION AND DISTRICT LEADERS AGREE THOSE TEACHERS SHOULD BE HIRED AGAIN IN LEE COUNTY.

Dr. Greg Adkins, Assit. Superintendent Operations

4:02:00 we hire about 700 teachers in this school district every single year, so I'm confident if these folks go out and actively pursue there's opportunity out there. 4:02:14

THE UNION HOPES THE RIGHT TEACHERS FILL THE OPENINGS FOR NEXT YEAR AT COLONIAL AND FORT MYERS MIDDLE AND THE RESULTS ARE BETTER.
