MAILBOX TAX REFUND THEFT-PKG

In this video exclusively obtained by NBC 6--US postal inspectors say this is William Gomez inside the Coral Gables apartment building using an unauthorized key to gain access to the mail boxes. He's seen opening multiple boxes at a time--sifting through the mail. The feds say he went into a building on Miami Beach and one in Sunny Isles too.

And here's the man the feds say is his accomplice--Miguel Cadierno.

He's also seen in the surveillance video opening numerous mailboxes.

Both men ended up being sentenced to time in federal prison. The postal inspectors told us their actions are just an example of fraud that sadly many South Florida residents are about to discover.

FORECAST OPEN-CLIP

Return to index of stories...

FORECAST-WXWALL

As we go through the day, you'll notice a pretty strong breeze coming from the west; winds will stay between 10-20 mph with some higher gusts up to 25 mph.

One pleasant change today will be the drier air pushing into Southwest Florida, which will lower the humidity and keep rain out of our forecast.

Expect a partly sunny sky today with increasing sunshine later in the afternoon, but we'll keep some clouds in the forecast with an onshore winds bringing in some Gulf moisture.

Temperatures will be a bit cooler today with highs only reaching the low 80s across most of Southwest Florida.

We'll even notice a nice cool down tonight, which will make for a very pleasant evening. Overnight lows will drop into the low to mid 60s along the coast and even as low as the upper 50s deeper inland.

Easter Sunday is looking picture perfect for Southwest Florida with plenty of sunshine, comfortable temperatures and low humidity; expect a mostly sunny sky with highs only in the low 80s.

As we head into next week, our weather goes into cruise control with sunshine at the wheel; highs will be in the mid to upper 80s, and rain chances will stay very low for most of the week.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...
