AS THEY SMILE THROUGH THE TEARS - TO TELL DILLONS STORY - YOU CAN SEE HOW HIS FIGHT MADE THEM - STRONGER.

BUT IT WAS HIS STRENGTH THAT BROUGHT THE HOCKEY FANATIC - MORE TIME THAN THE SIMMONS COULD IMAGINE.

"up until then he dusted himself off and fought so incredibly hard. and when doctors did tell him you know, this is going to be rough, he's like watch me."

DILLONS ATTITUDE WAS CONTAGIOUS.

"Dillon was doing it for us, as well as doing it for himself. more so, us."

FOR ANOTHER 2 YEARS DILLON WOULD FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE.

"about a month ago, he said mom, i'm dying."

NOW - IT WAS HIS BIGGEST FAN- HIS MOTHERS TURN TO CHEER HIM ON.

REMINDING DILLON WITH HIS OWN WORDS - HE HAS THIS.

"He still has this. but now he just has it in heaven."

NOW HIS STRENGTH LIVES ON - HIS FAMILY BELIEVES - SO OTHERS CAN KEEP LIVING.

"i believe he can inspire people to fight like he did and he could save some lives just through his."

FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

We're in store for ample sunshine over the weekend, and with all the sun comes increasing heat and humidity for Southwest Florida.

After starting off our Saturday morning in the mid to upper 60s, our temperatures will rise rapidly through the morning under wall-to-wall sunshine.

By midday, most of the area will be in the mid 80s, which will set up a fairly hot afternoon with daytime highs topping out in the upper 80s to low 90s.

Closer to the coast, temperatures should peak in the middle 80s thanks to the sea breeze, but as you go deeper inland, that's where we'll likely have some 90 degree readings.

Winds will stay fairly light today with the breeze coming in from the northwest at 5-10 mph.

Our sky will stay mainly sunny through the course of the day with only a few clouds developing.

The atmosphere as a whole is still fairly dry and stable, which will keep rain out of the forecast through the afternoon and evening.

Sunday will turn out to be another hot and mostly sunny day, but increasing moisture will lead to an uptick in humidity along with a slight chance for a few inland showers during the afternoon.

Sunday may even end up being our first 90 degree day of the year along the urban corridor of Southwest Florida.

As we head into next week, the heat and humidity continue, and we'll even add in some higher rain chances toward the end of the week.
