Full Forecast

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Another hot and humid day"

We managed to climb into the 90s once again yesterday, making that the third day in row so far this spring season. The summer-like heat will continue over the next couple of days, before relief comes in the form of rain by late in the week.

Our morning will get off to a very muggy start as temperatures remain unseasonably mild in the lower 70s. A few clouds this morning will give way to a mix of sun and clouds through mid day. Temperatures will climb quickly into the middle 80s by noon. With high pressure to our east, a southerly flow will pump in more heat and moisture. This combined with the seabreeze will allow for a couple of spotty showers and storms deep inland. Daytime highs will eventually top out near 90° in town, with cooler readings at the beaches and hotter temperatures inland.

A very slight shower chance will continue through the evening hours, and temperatures will begin to settle into the lower 80s by sunset. Due to the extra humidity, temperatures will be slow to fall overnight as they bottom out in the upper 60s to lower 70s area wide.

A slow moving storm system that continues to kick off rounds of severe weather across the south, will push itself down the Florida peninsula in a much weakened state. This will bring us a slight uptick to our rain prospects beginning Wednesday. As steering winds remain from the southwest, expect any rain that develops to sail east of the interstate. As this front drapes itself across the southern half of the state, expect more clouds than sun Friday and Saturday with scattered rain and a few storms. Return to index of stories...

5:30 WEATHER LEAD-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story
