GOOD MORNING-2SHOT WXANI

GOOD MORNING.

5:00 WEATHER LEAD-WX WALL

Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Extended stretch of dry weather"

It was a beautiful start to the week with blues skies and low humidity. Afternoon temperatures made it to 90° in town, and it looks like the heat will continue to build over the next few days. Rain prospects begin to increase slightly for the upcoming weekend.

Our morning will get off to a milder start, but still comfy with temperatures ranging from the lower 60s in DeSoto county to middle 60 across Collier. Bright and sunny skies will take over through the morning hours and temperatures will be quick to rise by mid day. Through the afternoon expect an abundance of sunshine and highs in the lower 90s. Humidity values stay relatively comfortable by May standards, but if you want to beat the heat head to the area beaches. Coastal spots will run a few degrees cooler as the west coast seabreeze kicks in during the day.

Mostly clear skies will prevail through the evening and temperatures will stay mild in the middle 60s.

High pressure remains in control of our weather for Wednesday, so plan on mostly to partly sunny skies each and every afternoon. Winds will continue to veer to the southeast pushing more moisture into Southwest Florida. Since humidity levels will be going up, overnight lows will be much milder as they settle into upper 60s to lower 70s by late in the week. During the day, afternoon temperatures will climb into the lower half of the 90s with mainly dry weather. Rain prospects look to go up slightly between 20-30% by the weekend as a few isolated showers develop along the seabreeze. Return to index of stories...

5:30 WEATHER LEAD-WX WALL
