MEMORIAL DAY FORECAST-WX CNTR

Very warm and muggy conditions are in store for tonight and Memorial Day across Southwest Florida.

In addition to the heat, we'll also likely be tracking some isolated showers or thunderstorms with the movement of the seabreeze on Sunday. As of late afternoon, the seabreeze hasn't been able to penetrate very far inland, meaning the urban corridor will bear the chance of seeing some rain or thunder this evening.

Any areas of rain or thunder that do develop should will bring the possibility of some strong wind gusts and locally heavy rain.

For Memorial Day Monday, the region is expected to begin the morning dry with afternoon highs soaring into the low to mid 90s by the afternoon. Coastal locations will remain a touch cooler with highs there in the upper 80s.

Once again on Monday with the seabreeze interaction, the possibility of some isolated showers or storms developing in the late afternoon and early evening will remain possible, with the likelihood remaining around 20%. Return to index of stories...

Deputies are searching for the man that robbed a North Fort Myers convenience store last night.

At 10:51 p.m. on May 24, 2014 deputies responded to the 7-Eleven at 6326 Beau Drive. Witnesses say the suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the store and ran south where it appears he got into a white 4-door vehicle and fled the scene. No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall with a thick build. He had a white t-shirt covering his face and was also wearing a white shirt, gray shorts and a pair of gloves.

If you recognize the suspect or know anything about last night's armed robbery, call the Lee County Sheriff's Office at 477-1000. Or, to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000, call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
