FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

!!!!NEED WX ANCHOR CG!!!!!

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

"Afternoon downpours"

Over the last couple of days, our atmosphere has become a bit more unstable allowing for storms to form across the peninsula. Over the next few afternoons, we'll be tracking increasing rain prospects as we begin our transition into the rainy season.

Mostly sunny skies will take us into the lunch hour, but as we head through the afternoon clouds will be on the increase. Much of the day will end up dry, and temperatures will climb into the lower 90s area wide. As the seabreeze kicks in, beaches will cool into the upper 80s and we'll notice a scattering of downpours and storms late in the day, especially across our urban locations.

Just like the last few days, any leftover rains will eventually make their way closer to the coast before heading out over the gulf waters. Overnight, skies will become partly cloudy and temperatures will settle into lower 70s.

As moisture increases across Southwest Florida, expect the showers and storms to become a little more widespread by Thursday. Afternoon highs will remain in the upper 80s with plenty of humidity. Overnight lows will stay seasonable in the lower 70s. Scattered rain will stay in the forecast through Friday, before slightly drier weather moves in by early next week. STAR TREK MANSION FOR SALE-OC ANIBOX

DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF AN ULTIMATE TREKKIE?

WELL, A VENTURE CAPITALIST IN FLORIDA PROBABLY HAS YOU BEAT.

HE'S SUCH A FAN OF STAR TREK, HE HAS A REPLICA NEXT GENERATION ENTERPRISE BRIDGE IN HIS MANSION.

AND NOW IT COULD BE YOURS, FOR A MERE 35-MILLION DOLLARS.

MICHEAL WILLIAMS PICKS UP THE STORY. Return to index of stories...

STAR TREK MANSION FOR SALE-PKG

I TRIED TO REMEMBER ALL THE RULES AS I DROVE AT WARP SPEED TO THE 27,000 SQUARE FOOT BOCA RATON MANSION OF VENTURE CAPITALIST MARC BELL.

"I'm with Senada Adzem the exclusive listing agent for Marc Bell's home. Rule number one is I should never look at a home I can't afford. what is it going for?

35 million dollars.

"Rule number 2. if you are going to ignore rule number one make sure what you are buying is out of this world."

"Ahhh. I'm in heaven. I can't believe it. We're looking at.

Starship Enterprise bridge. It's the exact replica.

The Next Generation bridge, I'm finally on it after all these years. Wow"

IF YOU'RE A TREKKIE THE BRIDGE REPLICA FROM STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION MEANS A LOT MORE TO YOU THAN BELL'S 1500 BOTTLE WINE CELLAR. OR THE FULL SIZE BASKETBALL COURT. OR THE KITCHEN AND THE DINING ROOM -- BIG ENOUGH TO FEED STARFLEET.

"He was so fascinated by the show and you're a bigger trekkie than I am but he ended up buying actual uniforms and actual badges and phasers and everything and he wanted to recreated it at his own home."

BELL BOUGHT THE ORIGINAL EARS LEONARD NIMOY WORE AS MR. SPOCK. HE GOT A MODEL OF THE ORIGINAL ENTERPRISE AND IT'S NOT JUST STAR TREK. HERE'S ROBBIE THE ROBOT FROM THE 1956 THRILLER FORBIDDEN PLANET. AND THERE IS AN ARCADE FILLED WITH OLD SCI FI FAVORITES.

"He ended up getting from different auction houses all the different memorabilia for the property."

BUT BELL IS NOW MOVING TO MIAMI, AND SO I DREAM ON - MAYBE THE ENTERPRISE BRIDGE COULD BE MINE.

"It just depends on the price."

standup - RULE NUMBER 3 WHEN BUYING THAT 23RD CENTURY STAR TREK BRIDGE AS PART OF YOUR HOME, MAKE SURE ALL THE EXTRAS ARE INCLUDED, WE'VE GOT PHOTON TORPEDOES AND PHASERS, GREAT FOR HOME SECURITY, DEFLECTOR SHIELDS FOR HURRICANE SEASON AND OH YES, EVERY EPISODE THAT EVER AIRED OF STAR TREK.

RULE NUMBER 4, ONCE YOUR SURE THE HOME IS RIGHT FOR YOU, TRY TO PLAY HARDBALL.

"So now can we work on the price?"

Not even."

OH WELL MAYBE I CAN AUCTION A FEW OF THE STARFLEET UNIFORMS ON DISPLAY HERE, OR A TRIBBLE, OR CAPTAIN KIRK'S BOBBLEHEAD TO GET STARTED ON THE DOWN PAYMENT.

STANDUP -- What's that old line from the classic Star Trek episode where Jean-Luc Picard is taken over by the Borg? Resistance is futile. So if you can't resist that dream home at least make sure it is one you want to live in for light years to come.

And as Jean-Luc Picard used to say -- engage. I always wanted to say that Return to index of stories...

TOO MUCH HILARY?-ON CAM

IT COULD BE A BRILLIANT PUBLIC RELATIONS MOVE, LAUNCHING A HISTORIC BID FOR THE WHITE HOUSE.

HILLARY CLINTON'S NEW MEMOIR COULD ALSO BE A RISKY MOVE -- IT COULD WIND UP AS AMMUNITION FOR HER CRITICS AND ADD TO WHAT SOME CALL CLINTON FATIGUE.

BRIANNA KEILAR HAS MORE. Return to index of stories...

TOO MUCH HILARY?-PKG

IN THE AUDIO EXCERPT, RELEASED BY THE PUBLISHER, HILLARY CLINTON NARRATES THE AUTHOR'S NOTE FOR HER UPCOMING BOOK….WHAT SHE CALLS HER "HARD CHOICES":

"Perhaps the most famous example from my four years as secretary of state was President Obama's order to send a team of Navy SEALs into a moonless Pakistani night to bring Osama bin Laden to justice. The president's top advisors were divided. The intelligence was compelling, but far from definitive."

CLINTON AND OTHERS PUSHED FOR THE MISSION.

THE REST IS HISTORY. AND, IT APPEARS, ONE OF THE CHIEF ACCOMPLISHMENTS SHE WILL POINT TO AS SHE DETAILS HER TIME AS SECRETARY OF STATE.

NOT MENTIONED HERE -- A FAVORITE REPUBLICAN FOCUS: BENGHAZI, LIBYA -- WHERE ISLAMIC MILITANTS KILLED AMBASSADOR CHRIS STEVENS AND THREE OTHER AMERICANS IN 20-12.

"Every day they're defining her legacy at the State Department. She hasn't had a chance to do that yet. That's what this book is about."

AS SHE DID IN 2003 FOR HER FIRST MEMOIR - "LIVING HISTORY" - THERE WILL BE INTERVIEWS. A BOOK TOUR AND SPEECHES.

BUT IS IT ALL TOO MUCH HILLARY CLINTON?

ALLOWING OPPONENTS TO PICK APART HER ACHIEVEMENTS AS SHE LAYS THEM OUT MORE THAN TWO YEARS BEFORE ELECTION DAY?

"It is impossible for her to be under the radar. The only question is, is she the one putting herself about the radar, or is she there because other people have put her there? And it's usually better when you are doing it yourself."

AND CLINTON IS TRYING TO DEFINE *HERSELF*. BUT FOR WHO?

SHE MAKES CLEAR IT'S NOT THE INSIDE-THE-BELTWAY NAVEL-GAZERS, THE PRESS AMONG THEM.

"While my views and experiences will surely be scrutinized by followers of Washington's long-running soap opera - who took what side, who opposed whom, who was up and who was down - I didn't write this book for them."

IN PART, IT SEEMS, SHE WROTE THIS BOOK FOR AMERICANS WHO MIGHT CAST A BALLOT IN 2016 …

DELIVERING THEM A MESSAGE OF OPTIMISM FOR AMERICA'S FUTURE. AND DROPPING THIS HINT ABOUT HERS.

"One thing that has never been a hard choice for me is serving our country. It has been the greatest honor of my life." Return to index of stories...

WEATHER-WX WALL

!!!NEED WX ANCHOR CG!!!

POLICE SAY A DRIVER CRASHED INTO A RED LIGHT CAMERA AND THEN PROCEEDED TO STEAL IT.

GABRIEL ROXAS REPORTS. Return to index of stories...

TEEN STEALS RED LIGHT CAMERA-PKG

It was just after 6:30 in the morning when the driver plowed into the camera that used to be here. Police say the driver would eventually tell them he was late for work, but they say that's no excuse for leaving the scene of the crime.

That's amazing. I can't believe somebody'd be that stupid.

THAT'S HOW LYN HOSTETTLER REACTED WHEN SHE SAW THIS PHOTO OF THE SUSPECT, WHO REPORTEDLY PULLED OVER TWO MILES FROM THE CRASH SITE TO ADJUST THE CAMERA IN THE BACK OF HIS TRUCK BEFORE HAULING IT AWAY. POLICE SAY WHEN THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO THE POLE ON 3RD STREET, THE WHOLE THING LANDED IN HIS TRUCK BED. HOSTETTLER CAN'T BELIEVE THE DRIVER EXPECTED TO GET AWAY WITH IT.

Especially with a six-foot big light with a camera in the back of your truck. I think someone would notice.

SOMEONE DID NOTICE. A WITNESS SPOTTED THE DRIVER IN THE EDGEWATER AREA, SNAPPED THIS PHOTO, AND SHARED IT WITH POLICE. THE CAMERA ENDED UP IN THIS CITY MAINTENANCE YARD AFTER OFFICERS SAY THEY CAUGHT 19-YEAR-OLD MANUEL MONTANO HERRERA AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE TRYING TO GET RID OF IT. THE WITNESS WHO SHOT THIS PHOTO ASKED TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS, BUT POLICE CREDIT HIM FOR ALLOWING THEM TO CATCH THEIR SUSPECT JUST HOURS AFTER THE CRASH.

Oh, that's classic. He's going to remember that picture for the rest of his life.

JAKE LEE WORKS NEXT TO THE CRASH SITE. HE'S JUST GRATEFUL THE DRIVER DIDN'T CRASH INTO HIS BUILDING.

And the gas line is right there too, so it's a good thing that that didn't get hit.

It's called karma. It's just one of those things. 41 If you hit and run anything, you're karma's gonna come and get you.
