GOOD MORNING-2SHOT PUSH

GOOD SATURDAY MORNING --

IT'S GREAT TO SEE ALL OF YOU HERE ON NBC2 NEWS TODAY --

I'M STACEY DEFFENBAUGH --

AND I'M CLIFTON FRENCH --

IT IS THE LAST DAY OF MAY --

AND WE ARE WELL ON OUR WAY TO THAT SUMMER WEATHER PATTERN --

NBC2 METEOROLOGIST JASON DUNNING JOINS US NOW TO TELL US ABOUT SOME MORE RAIN THIS AFTERNOON -- JASON. Return to index of stories...

FIRST WEATHER-WX WALL

Its official. We're back in the rainy season pattern, so you can bet that scattered showers and storms return to our forecast over the weekend.

The mornings will be mostly dry, but a few pockets of rain will be possible by the early afternoon as the atmosphere starts to heat up.

The bigger storm clusters will likely hold off until the mid to late afternoon when the sea breeze becomes more of a factor. All of us will be fair game for rain over the next couple afternoons, especially along the urban corridor and close to the coast where the sea breeze sets up.

Some of our weekend storms may be strong, producing gusty winds, frequent lightning and blinding rain.

It's even possible for a few localized spots to pick up over 2 inches of rain, yet other may stay completely dry due to the scattered nature of the storms.

Expect there to be plenty of humidity and warmth around over the weekend as daytime highs climb into the upper 80s and low 90s while overnight lows only cool to the low to mid 70s.

Winds will generally be out of the east southeast from 5-15 mph with some higher gusts inside the afternoon storms.

As we head into the upcoming week, it appears even more tropical moisture will surge in from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, setting up fairly cloudy and rainy pattern for most of the week.

Daytime temps will be a touch cooler as well with highs topping out in the mid to upper 80s.

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA. Return to index of stories...

GOOD MORNING, I'M CLIFTON FRENCH.

IT'S BEEN AN ACTIVE WEEK WITH SHOWERS AND STORMS --

NBC2'S METEOROLOGIST JASON DUNNING IS TRACKING TODAY'S FORECAST.

THE CITY IS LOOKING TO PART WAYS WITH THE ELECTRICAL POWER UTILITY

CITING THE POTENTIAL FOR BETTER SERVICE, TAX INCENTIVES, AND ACCESS TO FEDERAL FUNDS IN THE CASE OF A NATURAL DISASTER.

02:33:53 "it's one of those things that have to do to make sure we're getting the best rates we can for residents"

THE OTHER OPTIONS- FIND A DIFFERENT PROVIDER, OR RENEW THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH LCEC.

OTHER RESIDENTS LIKE PHYLLIS SPADOLA SAY THEY DON'T CARE WHO THEY'RE PAYING - THEY JUST WANT A CHEAPER BILL

CITY LEADERS SAY ITS NOTHING PERSONAL AGAINST LCEC- AND IF THE STUDY PROVES THEY'RE THE BEST OPTION THEY'LL CONTINUE THE PARTERSHIP

02:34:03 "is it cost effective, will it do what we need it to do, and then may be give us something to back to LCEC and say our rates are great thank you, or could we work on this and may lower this in the area" Sawicki Return to index of stories...
