THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

SCATTERED STORMS THROUGH THE WEEK

Our work week starts with mainly cloudy skies. We will continue with those mostly cloudy skies through the day today. Temperatures are warm this morning, but won't warm up too much do to all of the cloud cover in place today. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s today. Winds coming in from the east at 10-15 mph will help to spread showers and thunderstorms across the state and into Southwest Florida. Scattered showers and storms will dominate the afternoon with the majority of the area getting rain. It is another day where localized downpours can bring 2-3" of rain.

Through the week, unsettled weather will continue. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered storms each day, mainly in the afternoons. Highs will stay in the upper 80s.

Hurricane season started yesterday and we already have an area of interest in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Conditions are not conducive for development, though. We'll keep you updated on tropical activity as we continue through the season. Return to index of stories...

PROSECUTORS SAY HIS KILLED HIS WIFE AND FIVE CHILDREN IN 2009.

TWO MONTHS AGO -- A JUDGE RULED HE WAS NOT COMPETENT TO STAND TRIAL AND HE WAS SENT TO A MENTAL HOSPTIAL.

THEN LATE LAST MONTH D-C-F RULED HE WAS COMPETENT.

THIS MORNING, THE JUDGE AND ATTORNEYS WILL TALK ABOUT THE NEXT STEP IN THE CASE.

AN 84 YEAR OLD WOMAN DIED.

NEIGHBORS SAY -- HER SON WOKE UP TO THE SMELL OF SMOKE, AND TRIED TO GET HIS MOM OUT BUT WASN'T ABLE TOO.

Scattered showers and storms will dominate the afternoon with the majority of the area getting rain. It is another day where localized downpours can bring 2-3" of rain.

Through the week, unsettled weather will continue. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered storms each day, mainly in the afternoons. Highs will stay in the upper 80s.

Our work week starts with mainly cloudy skies. We will continue with those mostly cloudy skies through the day today. Temperatures are warm this morning, but won't warm up too much do to all of the cloud cover in place today. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s today. Winds coming in from the east at 10-15 mph will help to spread showers and thunderstorms across the state and into Southwest Florida. Scattered showers and storms will dominate the afternoon with the majority of the area getting rain. It is another day where localized downpours can bring 2-3" of rain.

Through the week, unsettled weather will continue. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered storms each day, mainly in the afternoons. Highs will stay in the upper 80s.

Hurricane season started yesterday and we already have an area of interest in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Conditions are not conducive for development, though. We'll keep you updated on tropical activity as we continue through the season. Return to index of stories...

SCATTERED STORMS THROUGH THE WEEK

Our work week starts with mainly cloudy skies. We will continue with those mostly cloudy skies through the day today. Temperatures are warm this morning, but won't warm up too much do to all of the cloud cover in place today. Afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80s today. Winds coming in from the east at 10-15 mph will help to spread showers and thunderstorms across the state and into Southwest Florida. Scattered showers and storms will dominate the afternoon with the majority of the area getting rain. It is another day where localized downpours can bring 2-3" of rain.

Through the week, unsettled weather will continue. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered storms each day, mainly in the afternoons. Highs will stay in the upper 80s.

Hurricane season started yesterday and we already have an area of interest in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Conditions are not conducive for development, though. We'll keep you updated on tropical activity as we continue through the season. Return to index of stories...
