Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

A SHORT BREAK FROM THE RAIN

Drier air is working its way into Southwest Florida today. We'll still see mostly cloudy skies this morning with conditions going toward partly cloudy this afternoon. That means we'll get to see some sunshine. As far as rain chances, they are very limited today. The vast majority of the area stays dry. Yesterday, many of us missed the rain, but the southern parts of our area had rather persistent showers through much of the midday and afternoon. If that includes you, those persistent showers are gone today and you don't have much to worry about. At most there could be a few isolated late evening showers. That's it for today. Afternoon highs will be warmer as we head up to 89 degrees.

A few afternoon showers and storms return tomorrow. Then through the end of the week and into the weekend, we'll have more of those scattered afternoon downpours. Highs will be near 90 degrees and lows will be in the low to mid 70s. Return to index of stories...
