FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

STORM CHANCES CONTINUE

It was yet another yet hot and humid day across Southwest Florida Thursday, with temps soaring into the mid 90s. Scattered storms will continue to develop this evening and some could impact the Urban Corridor, as temps only fall into the 80s. Expect another very humid overnight, with lows in the mid 70s.

More storm chances are ahead for Friday. It will again be a warm day, but better coverage of showers and storms is expected in the afternoon. Highs on Friday will push into the low 90s.

The weekend will also feature rain and storm chances. Partly cloudy skies are expected in the morning time frame, with PM showers and storms developing. Highs both weekend days will be in the low 90s.

More moisture looks to enter the area to start next week. Rain and storms chances will likely increase each afternoon Monday & Tuesday, with temps in the low 90s.

TROPICAL UPDATE

We are still quiet in the tropics, including the Gulf, Caribbean and the open waters of the Atlantic. There is some indication that a weak system could try to develop early next week near the Southeastern U.S., but that is highly uncertain.

No major activity is expected over the next 5 days. Return to index of stories...
