FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.STORMS IN THE AFTERNOON

Showers and storms will be a pretty good bet across much of Southwest Florida this afternoon, as storms bubble up in the early PM hours. It will be hot and humid before the storms arrive, with temps holding in the low to mid 90s.

Some will be on the stronger side with gusty winds, heavy downpours and deadly lightning. Most of the activity should diminish as we head into the late evening time frame.

Saturday & Sunday will be very similar. Highs both days look to top out in the low 90s and it will be humid. Scattered storms will be predominately in the afternoon with some carrying into the overnight.

More PM showers and storms will be likely as move into next week, with a slightly better chance of activity Monday and Tuesday.

Tropical Update

Nothing to concerning to update about right now but there is an area of interest off the southeastern coastline. A very weak disturbance is trying to get going a few hundred miles east of the Bahamas. This disturbance is still very disorganized and the likelihood of development into anything is very low, if not 0%. Will continue to monitor. Return to index of stories...

FUGITIVE FRIDAY-SS (5)

We're starting off our list with a 53 year old man accused of molesting two young

girls, who were both under the age of 10. Richard Burks has been on the run

for nearly six years now, and is considered one of Collier County's most wanted.

Burks was supposed to show up in court to defend himself on the molestation

charges. But when his trial date arrived, Burks was nowhere to be found. Burks

was originally arrested in 2006 for allegedly molesting the two young victims over

the course of several years. He would have faced up to 30 years in prison if

convicted of those charges, as well as an additional 15 years for other offenses.

Burks was last known to be living in the Naples area - and though he's been

laying low for awhile, word on the street is that he was seen recently at a local

strip club. Upon his arrest, Richard Burks will be held without bond.

Also on the run this week is Yosdany Llanera, another accused offender who

is believed to have molested a young girl under the age of 12. The victim said

she was in her bed when Llanera came into her room in the middle of the night

and molested her. When she told an adult the next morning, the girl's mother

confronted 20 year old Llanera, who said he simply went into her room to ask

if she had any candy. Upon further questioning, Llanera became loud and

belligerent, and asked to talk to the young girl. Sheriff's deputies arrived at the

house shortly thereafter and found probable cause to arrest Llanera for lewd

and lascivious molestation. After spending two weeks in jail, Llanera bonded

out for $25,000 - but now he's skipped out on that bond and is wanted for

failing to show up in court to tell his side of the story. It's believed that Llanera

is being harbored by family members - who have been less than cooperative

with authorities over the last few months. Upon his arrest, he will be held without

bond in the Lee County Jail.

Next up is Bryan Ross, a registered convicted felon wanted for failing to show

back up in court after being arrested for the possession and sale of cocaine.

This 25 year old fugitive has already amassed a lengthy rap sheet, with 21

bookings to his name. Among his legal malfunctions are charges of child

neglect, grand theft auto, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, fleeing and

eluding officers, a shooting, multiple counts of battery and a long list of drug

related charges - and that's just in Lee County. He's also been incarcerated in

Alachua County for larceny theft and trafficking in stolen property. Ross was last

known to be living in Dunbar, and has numerous tattoos, including a tear drop

and five stars on his face, a rosary with the phrase "only God can judge me" on

his neck, "Shores Boy" on his left arm, and the word "hate" on his right hand. And in Collier County, deputies are on the hunt for Freto St. Pierre, wanted for

failing to show up in court following an arrest for drug possession. Best known

on the streets as "Skee" or "Skilo," this 30 year old fugitive has a history of drug

use and abuse, as well as lying to police. Among his Collier arrests are several

charges of cocaine and marijuana possession, carrying a concealed weapon,

and repeatedly driving with a suspended license. He's also been jailed in Dade

County for grand theft auto, resisting arrest and violating his probation. St. Pierre

was last known to be living in Golden Gate, but also has connections to the Port

Charlotte area. Return to index of stories...

FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

STORMS IN THE AFTERNOON
