FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

STORM CHANCES FOR THE WEEKEND

It was another hot and humid day across the region, with highs in the low 90s. Storms developed much quicker in the urban corridor, and these storms will shut down in the evening time frame. Expect another very humid overnight, with lows in the mid 70s.

More rain and storm chances are ahead for Saturday. We'll see morning sunshine and PM showers and storms developing in the heat of the afternoon. Highs on Saturday will climb into the low 90s.

The weather pattern continues into Sunday. Morning sunshine will again bathe the region, with scattered showers and storms developing in the PM hours. Highs on Sunday will also be in the low 90s.

No major changes are expected as we move into next week. Plenty of sun is expected in the morning, with scattered showers and storms in the PM hours.

The coverage of the storms may be greater Monday - Wednesday.

TROPICAL UPDATE

The National Hurricane Center is still keeping an eye on a system in the Carolinas that will try and move into the Atlantic this weekend. Some forecast models indicate this system could strengthen as we move into next week. The hurricane center has a 20% chance of development over the next 5 days.

Elsewhere, no major activity is expected over the next 5 days, Return to index of stories...
