Evening storms possible

Thunderstorms are possible this evening across Southwest Florida after yet another hot and humid day. Much like Friday evening, any storms that develop could bring some heavy rain and strong wind to locations where they are able to develop.

Overnight temperatures are expected back in the mid to upper 70s along the coastal communities, with inland cities, east of Interstate 75 cooling back into the low 70s.

Sunday looks warm once again. High temperatures look to top out just above the seasonal average of 92 degrees. Despite some sun through the morning and early afternoon, another round of showers and storms can be expected to develop across areas of Southwest Florida by late afternoon and evening.

For the upcoming work week, conditions look warm and ocassionally stormy. Seabreeze showers and storms are likely during the late afternoons with highs in the low 90s.

TROPICAL UPDATE

A weather disturbance sitting off the coast of the South Carolina and Georgia in the Atlantic Ocean will be commanding much attention for the next several days. Though it remains generally unorganized as of now, the National Hurricane Center is pegging the disturbance with a 40% chance of development in the next two days, with a 60% chance over the next five days.

The feature looks to drift somewhat southward through this weekend. However, forecast data places the general progression of the feature's center moving away from Southwest Florida in the long-term. Return to index of stories...
