20:35:19 that sound awesome. If I wasn't graduating, I'd be very interested in that.:23

Curt Williams, FGCU Sophomore

20:31:10 I had my own room which was great; I wasn't jam packed with someone else. I liked being right next to more students right across the hall or what ever.:19

INEVITABLY - STUDENTS LIKE CURT WILLIAMS MOVE OUT OF THE DORMS AFTER A YEAR OR TWO.

NOW A NEW HOUSING OPTION HAS HIS ATTENTION.

Nats-

MIROMAR DEVELOPMENT WANTS TO TURN THIS LAND INTO A MIX OF RETAIL AND RESIDENCES - SPECIFICALLY FOR F-G-C-U STUDENTS AND FACULTY.

Morgan Meiser, FGCU Senior

20:35/32 we already have a beautiful waterfront in north lake so I feel like bringing a village like that would really include a lot of students in being more social and involved with other students:42

EVERYTHING FROM SECURITY TO ENROLLMENT WILL BE HANDLED BY A PRIVATE FIRM - NOT F-G-C-U. ALTHOUGH THE SCHOOL SUPPORTS THE PROJECT.

Nats-

NOT EVERYONE ELSE DOES.

20:42:19 it's going to do nothing but create a problem for us over here

THERE IS A SENSE OF DEFEAT AT THE GRANDEZZA COMMUNITY. PEOPLE HERE SHOWED UP AT PUBLIC HEARINGS TO PROTEST THE PROJECT - BUT LOST AND ARE AFRAID OF WHAT'S NEXT.

Bruce Gribler, Grandezza

20:41:28 I just have a feeling that it can do nothing but make it negative in terms of home values.:32

FIRST WEATHER-WX CENTER

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

The final weekend of June will be quite characteristic of Southwest Florida weather for this time of year. Expect plenty of sun and heat, followed by those afternoon and evening storms.

Like the last couple of days, a few of today's storms may be quite intense, producing frequent lightning, torrential rain, and gusty winds. Storm movement today will be from the northeast toward the southwest.

Before the storms develop, plan on seeing plenty of sunshine and heat as temperatures climb back into the low to mid 90s by the afternoon.

Our winds will be northeasterly today, coming in at 5-10 mph.

We'll see another episode of afternoon storms Sunday with perhaps a slightly greater areal coverage than today.

Heading into the upcoming week, forecast models suggest we stay in a pretty active afternoon storm pattern. Afternoon temperatures will continue to climb into the low to mid 90s each day with overnight lows dropping into the mid 70s.

Tropical Update

The National Hurricane Center is still keeping an eye on a system in the Carolinas that will try and move into the Atlantic over the weekend. Some forecast models indicate this system could strengthen a little as we move into next week. The hurricane center has a 30% chance of development over the next 5 days. GOV RACE: SPOUSES UNDER SCRUTINY-PKG

governor Rick Scott / 08:31 My wife and I released our tax return. We're calling on Charlie Crist and his wife to do the same thing.

BUT CHARLIE CRIST SAYS HOLD ON.

IN A STATEMENT TO NBC-2 CRIST SAID. "IF RICK THINKS THIS IS A RACE BETWEEN ANN AND CAROLE HE'S WRONG."

WE OBTAINED CRIST'S $541-THOUSAND DOLLAR 2013 RETURN AND IT'S CLEAR THAT HE AND HIS WIFE FILED SEPARATELY.

jo Ann Gooth/ Fort Myers Voter / 34:47 If she's filing individually then why should she have to release that information. 34:50

FLORIDA LAW SAYS SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO.

marcell Cleophat/Cape Coral Voter / 35:25 I think she should release it. If she's not hiding anything. I mean I understand by law she doesn't have to but as the ex-governor's wife she should release her tax retrun. 35:37

governor Scott / 06:28 I'm shocked he doesn't believe in transparency.

IN RESPONSE CRIST RELEASED 10 YEARS WORTH OF HIS OWN TAX RETURNS.

WHILE HIS WIFE MAY BE A MILLIONAIRE SHE EARNED HER MONEY BEFORE THE TWO MARRIED.

leonard Mullock/Fort Myers Voter / 36:55 If she had other than earned income, stocks, bonds or money that comes to her I would say yes. My reason: Money could be transferred into her account. I guess I read to many mystery novels. 37;16

BUT STILL CRIST DISAGREES, TELLING ME "It's important we stay focused and respect our families."

GOVERNOR SCOTT AND HIS WIFE ANN FILED THEIR $9.3-MILLION DOLLAR RETURN JOINTLY.

ANN SCOTT'S NET WORTH THOUGH HAS NEVER BEEN MADE PUBLIC; ALTHOUGH HER TRUST FUND DONATED $12.-8 MILLION TO HIS 2010 CAMPAIGN. Return to index of stories...

FIRST WEATHER-WX CENTER

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.The final weekend of June will be quite characteristic of Southwest Florida weather for this time of year.
