Today's Weather Story

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

A FEW PASSING DOWNPOURS

Tuesday morning starts with temperatures in the mid and upper 70s across Southwest Florida with just a few clouds. Through the day we'll see mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.

The first Tropical Depression of the 2014 Atlantic Hurricane season has formed and sustained winds are at 35 mph. Tropical Depression One is just off the Florida East Coast and will likely become a Tropical Storm today. At that time it would be named Arthur.

On the western side of that system, here in Southwest Florida, we won't feel to much of an impact in our weather. In fact, it will likely limit our rain coverage. Winds will be from the northwest sending in only an isolated downpour this afternoon. High temperatures will reach into the low to mid 90s.

Tomorrow, that tropical system will be heading to the northeast. We will be left with a westerly turn on our winds which could help us to see a few showers and storms come ashore in the morning hours.

If you are planning ahead for the 4th of July, you can expect another hot day with highs in the low to mid 90s along with a few passing downpours. Return to index of stories...

5:22 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

Day Planner
