FIRST WEATHER

Keeping watch on Tropical Storm Arthur

The first named tropical storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season is located off the east coast of the peninsula. Newly-dubbed Tropical Storm Arthur will not be able to offer a direct impact on our weather in Southwest Florida, however we will continue to feel indirect influences as the storm begins to move northward.

The first of those impacts have resulted in diminishing the coverage and opportunity for widespread rain on our side of the state. Since we are located west of the center of circulation, drier air from the north has been moving southward on our side of the coast. That kept conditions predominately dry and very warm this afternoon.

Through this evening, any rain that is able to come together should remain isolated in nature. Overnight temperatures are expected in the mid to upper 70s.

On Wednesday, Tropical Storm Arthur will be moving north, and that will reorient the winds to hail from the west. This type of setup can work to offer the coastal regions the chance of a morning shower or downpour. Rain on Wednesday morning would again remain isolated in nature, and predominately along the coastline.

As the storm system continues its northward push through the end of the work week, we will experience a push back on the coverage of rain across the region. Most activity would be expected to develop mainly across the inland areas of the state on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures continue to look warm, topping out near 93 degrees on both afternoons. "I saw a lot of vehicles. The party was starting and a lot people gathering. My guess is probably up to 150 people."

REMNATS OF THE PARTY STILL SCATTERD AROUND THE PROPERTY---

BEER BOTTLES. BROKEN GLASS.AND TRASH.

"It wasn't your typical BBQ happening over there. Very loud music. Lots of yelling."

YELLING THAT ENDED WITH THIS--

NBC2 EXCLSUVELY OBTAINED THE AUDIO OF WHAT ENDED THE PARTY EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.

WE COUNTED 31 GUNSHOTS EXCHANGED IN 26 SECONDS.

11:51:04-13

"When I realized it was gunshots and not fireowrks of course I was

very nervous. I didn't know where it was coming from."

THIS MAN-- DIDN'T WANT TO SHOW HIS FACE IN FEAR OF RETALIATION-- CALLED 911.

"She then Explained to me that they were getting another phone call right then.

And told me they just had another report of gunshots and that an

ambulance has been requested."

WHEN DEPUTIES ARRIVED AT THE HOME THEY FOUND 26 YEAR-OLD NIYENSKA DESIRE INSIDE THE HOME IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND TO HER LEG.

SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO LEE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.

"A lot of people were trying to run away and drive away and I noticed

they started off blocking off the end of the street."

WHEN WE STOPPED BY THE HOME TODAY.

NATS OF ME KNOCKING

.NO ONE WAS HOME. NEIGHBORS ALONG THE STREET SAY THE COUPLE AND THEIR BABY MOVED OUT THE NEXT DAY.
