THAT IS ALYSIA MONTANO…8 MONTHS PREGNANT AND RUNNING IN AN 800-METER COMPETITIVE RACE…

AS THE IMAGE MADE ITS WAY AROUND THE WORLD… NOT EVERYBODY IS CLAPPING

"I've read books and been told by my doctor not to be running so to me I thought that was pretty risky for the baby. Me personally I wouldn't do it."

Sounds a little crazy. If it was my wife I don't think I would have let her do it. It doesn't seem like it would be good for the baby… all that shaking going on.

ON TWITTER…ONE PERSON WRITES IS THAT EVEN SAFE?…ANOTHER IS FAR MORE HARSH…SAYING CHILD ABUSE VILE WOMAN…

MONTANO HAS HEARD THAT AND WORSE:

You're gonna kill the baby….Or You're being selfish

"I am a mom and you're thinking about wow I would never do anything to hurt my baby and that's really really harsh words for somebody to say."

ESPECIALLY SINCE MONTANO'S OWN DOCTOR SAYS IT IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY FOR HER. MONTANO IS AN OLYMPIAN WHO HAS RUN THROUGHOUT HER ENTIRE PREGNANCY…AND THAT IS THE KEY DOCTORS SAY…

"….As long as she has excellent exercise tolerance, meaning that she maintained her exercise regimen during her first trimester, second trimester, and the infant is growing well."

THE SAME GOES FOR MOST FIT MOM'S WITH NORMAL PREGNANCIES.

When I first read about that I thought it was awesome. I was like wow, good for her. I can't run but I was very impressed.

SO MONTANO IS IGNORING THE NAY SAYERS…AND LISTENING TO HER DOCTOR'S AND FANS INSTEAD.

"…I really wanted people to understand that this body this female body it's a very very strong body we're not fragile we're not going to fall apart and second pregnancy is not a disease it is not an ailment."

FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

PM SHOWERS & STORMS POSSIBLE AS ARTHUR CHURNS

Tropical Storm Arthur continues to develop east of Southwest Florida. The storm will not have a direct impact on our weather, but some dry air will continue to push into the area as the storms moves across the Atlantic. This will keep the best chance for showers and storms this afternoon in inland areas. It will be hot again today, with highs in the low to mid 90s.

Arthur will switch our winds on-shore, allowing some activity in the Gulf to possible move in later this evening. Temps will fall overnight in the mid and upper 70s.

As TS Arthur continues to push northward through the remainder of the week, our rain chances don't change a whole lot. Both Thursday and Friday will mention some showers developing early morning off the coast and isolated chances for showers inland during the afternoon. It will be hot and humid both days, topping out right around 93°.

TROPICAL STORM ARTHUR

The 11 am advisory from the National Hurricane Center is keeping Arthur as a tropical storm, with sustained winds of 60 mph. Arthur is moving north at 7 mph. A Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect for the east coast of North Carolina, while the Tropical Storm Watch has been cancelled for the East Coast of Florida.

Arthur could possible graze the East Coast of North Carolina late Thursday into early Friday. Return to index of stories...

"Clearly both parties are at fault here.'

CIVIL LIBERTIES ATTORNEY MARC VICTOR SAYS THE CONFRONTATION THAT HAS SPARKED NATIONWIDE DEBATE COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED ALTOGETHER.

"The interaction with police was terrible. This isn't how you interact with police."

PROFESSOR ERSULA ORE WAS CROSSING THE STREET AT COLLEGE AVENUE AND 5TH STREET IN TEMPE WHEN THE OFFICER APPROACHED HER FOR J-WALKING. SPEAKING MONDAY, ORE SAYS SHE WAS TAKEN OFF GUARD BY THE OFFICER'S DEMEANOR.

"He throws the car door open actually. He's towering over me. He's intimidating. I don't know why he's so aggressive."

EXACTLY HOW THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE TWO BEGAN IS NOT KNOWN. THE AUDIO RECORDING PROVIDED BY POLICE PICKS UP AS THE OFFICER IS ASKING FOR ORE'S I.D.

Officer: the reason I'm talking to you right now is because you are walking in the middle of a street. That's called obstruction of a public thoroughfare.

Ore: I hear you I hear you.

Officer: so now let me see your i.d.

Ore: You're not listening to anything I've said.

Officer: You're not listening to me.

THE OFFICER PRESSES ORE TO COMPLY.

Officer: "let me see your i.d. Or you will be arrested for failing to provide i.d."

Ore: "are you serious?"

Officer: "yes I am serious. That is the law.

"When you're outside of a motor vehicle there is no law that requires a citizen to produce identification,

AS ORE CONTINUES TO QUESTION THE REASON SHE WAS APPROACHED. THE OFFICER ATTEMPTS TO TAKE HER INTO CUSTODY.

Officer: Are you aware that this is a street?

Ore: Let me finish.

Officer: Put your hands behind your back.

Ore: Don't touch me don't.

Officer: Put your hands behind your back.

Ore: Get your hands, get your hands off me. Get your hands off me.

Officer: Put your hand behind your back.

"She was clearly resisting arrest and even if its found to be an unlawful arrest she is in the wrong."

Officer: Stop fighting me, put your hands behind your back.

Ore: Stop touching me. Stop.

Officer: Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back.

Ore: Stop. Stop.
