HOT AND HUMID WITH AFTERNOON STORMS

We will find ourselves in a rather typical summertime pattern for the upcoming work week. Temperatures will be hot, yet seasonal for early July. Highs rather consistently are expected between 92 and 93 degrees.

With sea breeze interactions today, and for the next several days, you can expect scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Coverage from day to day will vary, yet the usual late afternoon and early evening time frame will be the most likely for that development. Today much of the activity will be from 3pm on through the evening and mainly aimed toward the inland areas.

TROPICAL UPDATE

Weather conditions look generally quiet regarding tropical cyclones across the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. No cyclones are active, and development of any storms is not anticipated in the next three to five days.

DEVELOPING THIS MORNING --

THE RING LEADER IN AN E-B-T SCAM WILL BE SENTENCED IN COURT TODAY.

THE LEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS MICHAEL SCH-NADDER ALONG WITH 9 OTHERS EMBEZZELED MORE THAN 1-MILLION DOLLARS FROM THE GOVERNMENT AND TAXPAYERS.

INVESTIGATORS SAY THEY WERE USING THEIR EBT CARDS -- OR ELECTRONIC BENEFIT CARDS -- A WELCARE CARD -- AT SCHNADDER'S BLUE RIBBON STEAK AND SEAFOOD COMPANY -- PRETENDING TO BUY FOOD ON THE CARDS.

INSTEAD OF BUYING IT - SCHNADDER WOULD SWIPE THEIR CARDS FOR THE FULL AMOUNT.

HE WOULD KEEP HALF THE MONEY AND GIVE THE EBT CARD OWNER THE OTHER HALF IN CASH.

THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE SAYS SCHADDER WAS MAKING 5 TO 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS A DAY. THE SHERIFFS OFFICE SAYS MICHAEL SCH-NADDER WAS THE RING LEADER.

HE WOULD TAKE THE CARDS--SWIPE THEM FOR THE FULL AMOUNT.

HE WOULD THEN TAKE HALF THE MONEY AND THE GIVE EBT CARD OWNER THE OTHER HALF.

THEN THE GOVERNMENT WOULD DEPOSIT THE TOTAL AMOUNT INTO SCH-NADDERS ACCOUNT.

NO FOOD OR OTHER GOODS WERE EXCHANGED.

AN UNDERCOVER OPERATION LEAD TO THE ARREST OF THESE 5 PEOPLE.

TAMPA ISRAEL TEEN FREED-VO

THIS MORNING, WE'RE LEARNING A PALESTINIAN-AMERICAN TEEN FROM TAMPA WHO WAS JAILED IN ISRAEL HAS BEEN CONDITIONALLY RELEASED.

15-YEAR OLD TAH-REEK KAH-DEER WAS ARRESTED LAST WEEK -- AFTER PROTESTS BROKE OUT.

CELL PHONE VIDEO CAPTURED ISRAELI POLICE BRUTALLY BEATING THE TEEN.

KAH-DEER WILL NOW BE UNDER HOUSE ARREST --

EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT CLEAR WHAT IF ANY CHARGES HE FACES.

HIS PARENTS SAY HE WAS TAKING PART IN THE PROTEST -- BUT NOT THROWING ROCKS.

THE PROTESTS WERE SPARKED BY THE DISCOVERY OF THE BURNED BODY OF HIS COUSIN, MOHAMED ABU KHDAIR.

HE'S BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN KILLED IN REVENGE FOR THE KIDNAPPING AND KILLING OF THREE ISRAELI TEENAGERS IN THE WEST BANK LAST MONTH.

THIS MORNING, WE'RE LEARNING SIX SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR HIS DEATH.

ISRAELI POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE TARIQ'S INVOLVEMENT IN THE PROTESTS.

HE REMAINS UNDER HOUSE ARREST FOR NINE DAYS, NOT IN THE FAMILY HOME, BUT RATHER IN A RELATIVE'S HOME IN THE ADJACENT NEIGHBOURHOOD OF BAIT HANINA.

"What do you think of the decision of the court?"

"I'm not really happy because he hasn't really been charged with anything, he hasn't been accused of anything not charged with anything, they have him on house arrest out of his own home and plus they're making us pay a fine."

"You will pursue charges against the police who beat him?"

"Yes we will, definitely. "

THE ISRAELI JUSTICE MINISTRY HAS LAUNCHED A PROBE INTO THE INCIDENT…TARIQ'S FATHER, SALAH, HAS SCANT FAITH IN THE PROCESS.

"Are you confident that the investigation will be fair?"

"Uh, what the history is, no."

AS THAT INVESTIGATION GOES FORWARD, ISRAELI POLICE SAY THEY HAVE BROUGHT IN SEVERAL ISRAELI JEWS FOR QUESTIONING IN CONNECTION WITH THE KIDNAPPING AND MURDER OF MOHAMED ABU KHDAIR, INDICATING IT MAY WELL HAVE BEEN A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED REVENGE KILLING.MORE FUEL FOR THE FIRE.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the crash Friday night near the Dinner Key Marina in Miami, with officers plucking several people out of the water. The boaters are believed to have been out celebrating the Fourth of July holiday.

Authorities say eight people were initially transported to Miami hospitals. Two of them, man and a woman, later died. Relatives of a third victim found her body in the water on Saturday, and a fourth body was located later by investigators. Return to index of stories...

5:52 FORECAST ON THE 2'S-WX WALL

This is our gift to them, to say thank you for their service and sacrifice."

Charlotte, FL. Brides Across America and Charlotte Bridal Boutique will roll out the red carpet for deserving

military brides and give them the opportunity to shop for a free wedding gown.
