FIRST ALERT FORECAST-WXWALL

THIS WEATHERCAST HAS BEEN PREPARED BY THE NBC2 WEATHER STAFF.

IT IS NOT A VERBATIM OF WHAT IS BEING SAID, BUT IS THE FORECAST FOR OUR AREA.

Our weather is noticeably quieter this afternoon, but a few showers and storms are still roaming through parts of Southwest Florida.

As we close out the afternoon and head through the evening hours, the best chance of a passing storm will be across our inland areas, particularly for Glades and Hendry County.

We may still get a few spotty downpours closer to the coast and along the urban corridor, but the coverage should stay pretty isolated here.

Once the rain fades after sunset, expect a clearing sky through the overnight and early morning hours Friday with temperatures settling into the mid to upper 70s.

Friday should actually end up being a bit drier than the last few days, but we'll still mention the risk for an isolated shower or storm in the morning close to the coast and then in the afternoon across our inland communities.

Our weather through the weekend will feature plenty of sunshine along with some toasty temperatures as highs soar into the low to mid 90s. As we often see this time of year, storms will be possible during the afternoon and evening with rain chances around 40%.

In the tropics, we're monitoring a few tropical waves in the open Atlantic, but it's unlikely any of these will be able to organize into a tropical system. However, conditions should gradually start to become more favorable for development over the next few week, so we'll need to pay closer attention the the tropics toward the end of July and into August.
